Learjet without the engine cowling

Recommended Posts

Yesterday was a beautiful day here in South Florida and since my office is only 4.5 miles from the Boca Airport, I decided to take a drive there during my lunch hour to watch take off's and landings. When I got there some mechanics had apparently been repairing one of the turbofan engines on a Learjet Model 60, as they were parked at the end of the taxiway and the engine cowling was off.

I walked closer to snap a few photos and just as I got there they decided to run her up, with the brakes on, at what sounded like full throttle. Man oh man was that loud :gaah:. There was a big pile of dirt at the end of the runway from some construction they are doing and there were a lot of cars parked on the other side. It blew a tremendous amount of dirt and covered them all in a thick layer. Glad I wasn't parked over there. It looked like a sandstorm.

Here's some pics.
