mutley 4,498
I Simi, You are sooooo close. I have had this problem with the Airport Finder site too. If you type in SKRG into FS2004 it comes back with Rionegro as the city. I may have got the detail wrong about how many airports in the region but this may be down to the same problem you are having. Don't forget I said the scenery was freeware from AVSIM. (No links... yet!) Cheers
simi_av8r 0
well, if its not SKRG, then is it SKMD / Enrique Olaya Herrera Airport - Medellin, Colombia? Both of these appear on AVSim's library....? Failing that is it....... or am i not allowed two guesses in one post??
mutley 4,498
Well done Simi! I was willing you to get it! Scenery here- http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DL ... fs2004scen As a present, it's your go! Cheers

simi_av8r 0
no guesses yet.. well ok, here's a clue or two to get you going: 1 - this airfield was one of the many hundreds of Operational Training Units (OTU's) during WW2 2 - a certain old 'lady' lives here... she's still alive and kicking mind you :mrhappy: feel free to say what you see!
simi_av8r 0
c'mon guys... this place is feeling more and more deserted by the day! :mrhappy:  or is it that more clues are required?
mutley 4,498
Is it Wellesbourne Mountford EGBW? Looks different in FS9 default :mrhappy:
simi_av8r 0
yes indeed it does look different in FS9 default.... but congrats, it is most certainly Wellsbourne Mountford Airfield, :mrhappy: so i guess the baton's now yours again buddy just out of interest, did the clues give it away, or was it through painful searching that you arrived to your conclusion?? If the former, can you enlighten our fellow Hangarians as to the answers: Which, for those absent minded among us were: 1 - this airfield was one of the many hundreds of Operational Training Units (OTU's) during WW2 2 - a certain old 'lady' lives here... she's still alive and kicking mind you Also, for a bonus point, can you name the aircraft that the aircrew would have used for training at this base??
mutley 4,498
Go me .. Go me! It was really the second clue that gave it away, had you given the OTU number it would have been easier! For the bonus, is the aircraft you are looking for Wellington bombers? Cheers
simi_av8r 0
indeed. The Avro Wellington was used to train budding navigators during WW2 at EGBW. Upon completion of their training, they progressed onto the Avro Ansons and trained in night time navigational roles! As for the 'old' lady living here, that would be the awesome Avro Vulcan B2 'XM655'. Although 'Wings and Wheels' didnt go ahead this year, the old girl has apparently been howling down the strip in anticipation of seeing her sister XH558 take to the skies once more - its only a matter of time now! mulletman 0
I think this might have a link to Just Flight's VLJ. If so it is Shelter Cove, 0Q5, on the califonia coast.
mutley 4,498
Let's have a think.. It's FS2004, the aircraft is the JF ArcherIII. Fred, Fred? :mrhappy: Is closest, the correct side of the pond. This airport is included in a scenery package, not sure if it came with a mesh, if not, FS Global is what you see. Cheers
