How's your Memory?!?

Recommended Posts

Picked up a video of an old film (Is that a clue?- Ed) the other day and saw this:

And, yes, it is an autogyro - some say the pre-descessor of the helicopter - as developed by a certain Mr Ciervas. But, what was the film, eh?

I'm sure you know! :thum:

Cheers - Dai.

First off - sorry I haven't posted the answer - busy with "homework"!! :whis:

And - Yes - John, you were right! It is the autogyro as designed and built by Juan de la Cuerva. This magical machine appears in Alfred Hitchcock's 1935 film "The 39 Steps" - I found an old video-tape version and was tickled to find that the autogyro had been included. Some film buffs say that this is the 'secret weapon' that the spies are trying to smuggle out of the country. Now, I've read the book several times and Buchan doesn't disclose this particular detail...

So - Well Done, John - and thanks for your interest, guys! :thum:

Cheers - Dai.
