Leg 53-Quito SEQU to Bogota SKBO

Recommended Posts

This was found in a cutting taken from 'La hora de Quito', an Ecuadorian newspaper, and has been roughly translated into English :

"due to the high altitude of Quito causing high fatigue levels, the pilot of flight ATWC53 was found this morning having overslept by several hours, and when he arrived at the airport he realised that he had missed his slot by a long way. Due to unusualy high traffic levels at Quito Airport this summer, likely to be caused by the recent rise in low-cost air travel, this special flight has been delayed until later this afternoon. The pilot would like to make a personal apology for any inconveniance caused...'

I used every inch of the runway as it is so high up the air is SO thin! Unfortunately the flight video didn't work so no immediate takeoff shots :sadblinky:

Well done on completing the flight Phil, those high altitudes really affect the performance don't they?

Some real, real nice shots in there, it's great to have you back :mrhappy:

When you see Dgor make sure he hasn't got Sharon around to distract him.

Sam, I love the little Fokker too, the F28 is one of may favourites.

(Er... That's enough Fokker jokes..Ed)

Cheers

Thanks, Phil - good to have a professional around!

BTW, Joe '...That was no Fokker, that was a Mescherschmidt....' - wonderful punch line, if only I could remember the joke, I said ... (falls asleep again)

Cheers - Dai. :mrhappy:
