IcedUpPitotTube 0
Just wanted to say congrats to Prince William and Catherine. I actually stayed up my whole night to watch the whole thing live... from 12 AM PDT to 5 AM PDT. (GMT-8). Anybody else watch it?
allardjd 1,853
My congratulations to them too. I didn't watch, but like what I know of them and wish them well. John
dodgy-alan 1,587
Yep, I watched it from 8;00 AM this morning, thought Kate looked lovely,William and Harry both very smart. I wish them the best of luck. Pity Princess micheal of Kent looked as though she had a UFO on her head , and Princess Eugenie had a giant set of bunny ears on hers! Camilla looked like a mushroom a few of the other minor royals were very dubious too.(Princess Anne looked like a cleaning lady!). Pippa Middleton looked stunning and Samantha Cameron very eyecatching.
allardjd 1,853
It's a great pity that Maggie is no longer able to appear in public. It would have been good to see her one more time but I understand Alzeheimer's has taken it's cruel toll there and she probably won't be seen in public again. John
simi_av8r 0
i watched it too, Kate's dress was impeccably gorgeous, and her sister Pippa looked stunning also (she's now in my 'must do' list top 3)...but, as DA says, some of the lesser Royals looked dubious, although it was great to see so many British designers being showcased....and does anybody else think Kates dressed looked just a bit like Grace Kelly's? Grace Kelly's Dress...... Oh, one more thing, the Aston Martin that Wills drove Kate to Clarence House in was great - i want one! also, was a nice surprise to see the SAR Sea King doing a quick flypast. TapA321 0
It was nice to see so much interest from other countries - most notably Canada, Australia & NZ, USA and Japan I thought. Watched the service and then later the fly-by and balcony scene on TV. The service overall was fantastic in my opinion... Kate looked beautiful as did everyone there. I was impressed with their choice of hymns too. There have been hundreds of roads closed in Surrey for street parties. The Union flag flew proudly outside the front door and we had a small celebration (i.e. I made some cookies) One thing I noticed.. not sure if anyone else did too... when William & Catherine left for the second time, we saw them driving in an Aston Martin. At the same time, an RAF helicopter flew overhead dangling a flag. The BBC narrator said he believed that to be William's personal banner, but to me it just looked like the regular RAF flag. Cheers, George
hurricanemk1c 195
When did the Sea King do a flypast?
TapA321 0
When did the Sea King do a flypast? It was when they emerged for a second time in the Aston Martin.
dodgy-alan 1,587
right at the end when the couple drove of in the Aston, caught everyone by surprise! That probabably includes London ATC as well!!
needles 1,013
Wifey and Myself on the right with a couple of dear friends. We met at their house and had a wedding breakfast of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Mmmmm! The masks, I made last night by laminating prints from the internet. What a laugh. Good luck to William and Kate.
Tim_A 997
Those masks were very popular, judging by the number I've seen about (heck, even those people on the TV were wearing them...) When Wills & Kate drove off in the Aston, I just couldn't help thinking "ejector seat...." :th_smiles73:

rob16584 42
I had it on whilst I was building furniture (don't ask!) and the event seemed very good. The only annoying thing was Huw Edwards talking constant b****cks when nothing much was happening. Although I think I've been to too many sporting events because I was expecting people to start cheering after Jerusalem and the National Anthem
mutley 4,498
Lisa and I were singing Jerusalem in the Hangar and toasted the happy couple many times, the ride up the Mall in the Aston Martin was my favourite moment too, precision timing with the Sea King flying over. Did anyone see the Cart Wheeling verger in Westminster Abbey? and the policeman playing up to the crowd? Looked like a great atmosphere but I am happy to have watched it on the TV, on the BBC of course! Brian, I really loved your shot! I think I would have to be Prince Phillip! GabethePilot 1
The little rascal keeps me awake at night doing his night flying training around the hills behind my house. Can't believe he's gone back to work already. "Flying helicopters is easy... but try landing one... !" :001_th_smiles48:
