I'll be honest, I am having problems getting this aircraft down to its 120-130 knot approach speed

Martyn,

Great shots. The livery and the airline brought back some good memories.

Republic was serving the airport where I learned to fly many years ago, though were using Convair prop twins (440 I think) in that service as the main runway

there was about a thousand feet too short for the DC-9s. The duck logo on the vertical stabilizer came from the even earlier North Central Airlines.

Not sure how or when the two became one - no doubt a merger of some sort.

Anyway, thanks for an interesting post.

John

Interesting choice of Flight Martyn, you couldn't pay me enough to fly into Baghdad let alone out of it :mrhappy:

The VC shots were fantastic, there really looks to be a lot of goodies for button pushers!

It's also nice to know what's going on in the flight too.

Thanks for posting,

Cheers

Fantastic shots Martyn, I always enjoy your shots in that there are a lot of "action shots" of the cockpit showing the procedures pre-flight, etc. Looks like a really nice cockpit too - the CoolSky Super 80 has been on my list for a long time. Please tell me that weather radar really works!

If you don't mind me asking, what are your system specs? Looking to get a new computer soon and to be honest anything that can give me over 25FPS in an addon aircraft in FSX will suit me fine :mrhappy:

Unfortunately the weather radar is just an animation. However there a plenty of clever blokes on the Coolsky forum, who have worked out a way to add the RealityXP weather radar to the panel.

I am running a Dell XPS M1710 laptop:

-Intel Core 2 Duo 2.17ghz

-2GB DDR RAM

-Nvidia 7950GTX 512MB
