Instrument Refresher Simulator

Recommended Posts

There's also a 'trainer' version which appears geared more towards ab-initio IFR pilots, and takes you through to test standards, rather than being just a refresher. You can find it from the link Brett posted above. Both products have a demo, so you can try them out first. The only caution is that since they are RW training tools, you will pay RW prices. Don't expect fancy FS-style graphics.

I don't have experience with either program, although I have used other RW IFR sims.

Hmmm... Thank you, the other FS i was looking at is Pro Flight simulator. It looks very interesting and has a reasonable price. :thumbsup:http://www.proflightsimulator.com/

I have heard that this is a ripoff of a freeware program(FlightGear) and has been talked about on other forums. Here is one http://www.squidoo.com/pro-flight-simulator-scam

It is up to you to decide for yourself.

Fly a DME arc and you earn my gold seal of approval :thum:

As for sims...I may ruffle feathers here but in terms of quality and accuracy, FSX is the best (using certain aircraft anyway).

X-plane is often held up but it's a bit of a joke in terms of simulating airframe stress and manuverability.

Have you guys tried FSFlightSchool2011? Here is a link http://www.fspilotsh...60e039600457d5b. Such a long URL!

Half-price as well.

DAMMIT WYATT!!

I was positive there was nothing more I wanted to spend money on for the next 6 months. :(

It looks really good....and who can argue for $20 USD??

Not bothered about the CPM award but 2 from PC Pilot?

It must be a pretty good package!

Just got it. It works well, although I would suggest getting the voice pack. I had a little trouble with the [ctr+shift+z] to switch flight mode and instead have to use the [ctr+shift+2] keys. As far as I know their is no way that you can program different keys for that! Over all I like it. :thum:
