ShrewsburyFC 215
This may seem a bit of a silly question, but what does FSUIPC actually do? Thanks in advance.
allardjd 1,853
FSUIPC provides a programming interface by which other programs running in parallel can extract data from FS and can send data and/or commands to FS.
rob16584 42
I assume that if I upgrade to the latest and greatest it won't affect the add-ons that use the previous version?
mutley 4,498
Sam, FSUIPC = Flight Simulator Universal Inter-Process Communication so basically what John said! I have never had a problem with backwards compatibility Rob.
pacinka 0
So this can be installed right over the old version? (no need to uninstall first?)
allardjd 1,853
Most likely it would not need to be uninstalled. FSUIPC runs as a module, i.e. it only consists of a dll file that is dropped into the FS folder tree in the appropriate place. Once that's done, it runs as part of FS, not as a stand-alone program. I'm pretty sure that makes any kind of uninstall a moot issue. John
Tim_A 997
I'm sure it'll say in the readme what the correct procedure is.
pacinka 0
Okay, thanks! It worked fine.
mutley 4,498
You're not mad Mike! I have been running this for years and always just run the installer and all has been well. I have the registered version as well so I can calibrate / assign my USB quadrant and other devices correctly and they always work after an update,
