UKJim 502
When looking at typical pictures of FSX on the web there is one with a plane on skis next to a camping dome tent. Where is this landing strip? Cheers Jim
stu7708 244
Not sure, but there's one default misson called Denali Base Camp Charter where you deliver supplies to a base camp at Mount McKinley that sounds about right if I remember correctly. Not sure if the landing strip is there all the time or if the scenery is added in the mission though...

ddavid 149
This is indeed a 'Backcountry' FSX Mission - Denali Base Camp Charter. What is confusing is the non-FSX texture (for the Maule) in the promo screenshot. The 'default' doesn't have the 'Swiss' Cross. Still, it's worth a go, even if it's just to work out how to stop skating around on the glacier after you've landed. Good Luck, Jim! Cheers - Dai.

And as you say Dai, it wasn't easy trying to get the plane to stop once you were down... but I don't think I've tried it since I was taking my first baby steps in FSX... UKJim 502
I have not done any missions in FSX maybe try some later Still can not find this place ah well Cheers guys
stu7708 244
Might not be an actual airstrip in FSX, but rather just some added scenery in the mission.... Come to think of it, it's most likely not a real airstrip since I seem to recall that the place was far from flat once you found it in the mission....
ddavid 149
Mission starts at Talkeetna (PATK) Alaska - here's the link You fly to the Denali (local name for Mt McKinley) Base Camp and back. The tents in the promo-pic represent the Base Camp... Cheers - Dai.

pacinka 0
I think Mikael is right though. The tents are probably only visible in the mission.
brett 2,315
I agree that the tents(LibraryObject) will only be in the mission. Thats not to say that you can't put some in as scenery with the OPT yourself(need the SDK). Not that hard to do and it will be in your addon scenery folder if you wish to turn it on or off. You might even be able too get the information right from the mission xml. If you haven't flown the Denali mission yet, you should give it a try. It was one of the tougher ones IMO with some nice mountain views along the way. If you can land on the ice and keep that Maule in position while things get loaded you can consider yourself a darned good pilot.
