Hi Guys

Well after a 2 week jaunt across the border to sunny England, I am back in chilly but sunny(ish) Bonny Scotland.

Here are the pics I took from the Mutley's Hangar Friday Dinner and the show itself. (these are the ones I could publish at least) :whis:

Pre Dinner drinks and banter.

Jack had ordered his Burger as he wanted to revisit last years huge effort, but when Lynda's Ribs appeared he was visibly taken aback.

And Lynda's Ribs

Jess, giving the victory sign as Lynda scoffed the lot.

At the show Joe and I met up with Simon Tolley, the show organiser.

Here is our venerable leader with Simon - buddies!

IMG_0152.jpg

A lot of interest in my panel. Unfortunately we hadn't the means to fire it up but still had great interest. Which is what the show is all about.

I managed to get the ATWC Baton off Joe for a shot with my panel.

The whole of Mutley's Hangar stand was busy all day.

With plentiful visits to Jack and Martin's 767 overhead panels and also Tim's Plan-G display.

My panel looked dwarfed by the Rotor thingy behind the stand. There are some huge Rotor craft in the museum.

IMG_0144.jpg

I followed Joe to the Komodo stand where our leader had a go at Rotor flying. Ah Well! You can't be great at everything Boss. (I'll leave it there) :whis:

"The controls are extremely sensitive Brian".

You seem to be very adept at flying Rotors young man!

Finally, here is a clip of Bob Sidwick of RCSimulations showing me his Motion Platform.

I tried blagging one for a review but Bob was having none of it. £6,500.00 - £7,000.00 please.

Wifey would have lynched me.

Hope you like what you see at maybe next year get yourself along to the show. You won't regret it.

Cheers

Nice pics!

However i really dont think you would want a motion platform!

The simulator that I built for Popham airfield has 3 collimators which give a realistic 3d through 180 degrees and the owner at the time wanted a motion platform as he had seen a helicopter one and tried it at some time. However the interesting thing that we noticed through hours of testing especially with the airobatic a/c was that when performing aeros some people already were falling off their seats when doing high angle aeros because they were expecting the G to keep them in their seats when leaning to left or right, of course there was no G as such, just normal gravity , so people fell out of their seats, but another thing worth noteing is that real pilots could become quite airsick when performing aeros on the sim for any length of time as their inner eras were being fooled into believing what the eyes saw, whilst non pilots could perform aeros all day long with no ill effects.

we therefore concluded that a motion platform would only exasperate the motion sickness so didnt buy one, especially as the sim was built to teach instructors how to instruct.

Thanks Guys, glad you liked the pics. It was a great weekend and yes Joe, it does seem like ages ago already. :(

Cheers Clem. Is anyone else having the same problem with not being able to view the video?

Did you just click on the video play button Clem?

I will try to sort out what's happening. :thum:

Great shots Brian

But Like Clem I can't watch the video either, it won't display at all for me.

Hi Edward,

Thanks for viewing my post. You should now be able to view the video also. I must have set it as private. I have now logged on and set the video to public.

Let me know if it works please.

Thanks again.

Brian :thum:

Your video works fine, Bri' - nice titles, Too! Thanks for uploading. :thum:

I sat on this rig a couple of years ago. It's quite impressive, but a tad expensive for the like of me...

Glad you got home O.K. - does the panel stil work? :whis:

Cheers Dai.

It's waaaaaaay too expensive for me also mate. We can only dream of what it might be like stuck in the corner of the back bedroom. :D

Not sure if the panel still works yet, I've been too busy trying to tame the overgrown garden. It takes forever for me as you can imagine.

Buttkicker looks like the next best thing I suppose.

Cheers John. :thum:

You sure fooled me Brian, but now that it's been pointed out to me I did spot the edit... ;)

I was about to claim that those ribs could have qualified for the opening scenes of the Flintstones ;)

Great shots, and I'm still a tad bummed that I couldn't make it...

Hey Guys, you know I can't miss a trick with photoshop. I reckon I should have pasted a few more ribs and stacked them like Jacks burger last year. :D

Hey Micke, don't worry about missing this years show. I reckon with it's popularity growing in strength, it will be at Weston for some time so there's always next year. :thum:
