needles 1,013
Hi Guys, Whilst on a jolly down to Edinburgh last week, Wifey and I visited the East Fortune Air Museum. http://www.nms.ac.uk..._of_flight.aspx Here are just a selection of what they have on display there. Apologies for some of the quality. I think I may have inadvertantly set Wifey's camera up wrongly. The first hangar we came to was housing this little beauty. Wifey asked me not to look up anything on line before we went, so this was a complete surprise to me. I had forgotten that they had brought one of the Concordes to Scotland. We were quite early so had the place to ourselves virtually. The exterior tour. Wifey demonstrating how large the wheels are. (Or how small she is). This tyre immitating me for baldness. Her belly. Exhausts. Interior. Wifey welcomes you aboard. Bijou. Display depicting what the passengers saw during their flight on Concorde. I had to wear the shirt didn't I? The office. Although you can't enter the flight deck, they have a sheet of perspex blocking the way but they have a nice wee hole cut in it, so that we can get our camera lens through it. The cabin crew station. The front boarding doorway. This is a stitched picture of 3 photo's using Microsoft ICE. A neat little program. A super day. We actually spent 5.5 hours there, with only a handful of other people knocking about. East Fortune Airbase cover a large area and there are several large hangars with plenty of aircraft to gaze at. There are a few more pictures to look at, so take a look here if you wish. http://s489.photobuc...7/East Fortune/ Hope you enjoy these pics, as much as we enjoyed being there. A pity they don't hold a Flight Sim' weekend up here. Cheers for looking.
brett 2,316
Great shots Brian. The cockpit looks like it's had a bit of use and also looks like it doesn't belong to the same plane compared to the exterior shots. I have always felt that this is one of the most beautiful looking passenger aircraft ever made. It's way cool looking, majestic and wouldn't look out of place parked next to modern fighter jets. Thanks for sharing.
hurricanemk1c 195
Superb shots Brian - very posh with that cap on!
mutley 4,498
Ding dong! Who is your young assistant?! Superb shots Brian and having her all to yourself was a bonus. Still a beautiful aircraft, she has stood the test of time and even now looks quite futuristic.

Kasper 14
Nice pics, made a note of the museum for when I to go to Scotland. I have been to a Concorde in a museum in Germany. An awe-inspiring airplane. Reminds me, have to get the FSLabs Concorde out of the hangar. Thanks for posting.
