stu7708 244
Started on a small tour of Papau New Guinea last night (thanks Andrew for the flightplan) and thought I'd share a few shots. Final preparations in Madang (AYMD). Looks like a great day for flying Taxiing to departure on runway 07. Better go easy on the throttles so I don't scare the cattle Making a hard right after departure to join the track After clearing the peaks I had a steep descent into Goroka (AYGA) in front of me Winds are coming in hard from the right, better join a left hand circuit and preform my Touch and Go from the other end. After a succesful T&G I climbed back over those peaks and started to descend in to the valley. Some low clouds starting to form up on me, better keep an eye on them. Lined up on final for another T&G at Gusap (GSP). Those trees looks like they could make for an interesting short final.. T&G completed, lets head back up again The terrain looks pretty good ahead, so I'll stay below the clouds on my way to Nadzab (AYNZ) Leaving Nadzab behind and heading south. Should find my next destination if I follow that valley up ahead.. Decided to stay low through here too Next stop is Bulolo (BUO) should be to the left at the end of the canyon Found it, and decided to make it a full stop to grab some food and rest in preparation for the rest of the flight down to Port Moresby and Jacksons (AYPY) Looks like there's and AirHauler base here too Nice little airport this The AH company even have their on Helipad. But I'd better look out for that flock of birds on departure That's it for now, hope you enjoyed watching the images as much as I did flying the route.

stu7708 244
Thanks Brett.. It really is a nice piece of scenery even if I've only had time for a few flights in the area...
brett 2,315
Try flying to a place called Erume. You can deliver me a new prop and a bunch of other parts. I should have done a flyover or at the minimum read the supplied info but I was just getting dark and I came in a bit to fast. Took a bunch of oxen to tow me out of the gully and now I have to work off the debt and I'm not exactly used to the farm life. Please hurry, the food is making me sick and the local chief's daughter(opposite of pretty) has her sights set on me. She keeps saying something about giving her a pikinini, whatever that means. SEATAC 400
Great shots Stu. Brett, hope you get out of there soon. Be careful of drinking the local water.
brett 2,315
Hehe, thanks but too late, I drank the water. Sorry I didn't answer sooner, there was no internet service in the outhouse. Stu's pic's are great. His grass looks so much better than mine. I guess the grass IS greener on the side of the fence.

brett 2,315
Thanks for the well wishes Chuck. Stu came with the parts I needed and helped with the repairs. After a huge meal of mumu made by the locals, I was able to get on to the next stop of my trip. Thanks for all your help Stu. I hope the meal settled better in your tummy than mine did. stu7708 244
Thanks Ros, Richard and Kieran.. I'll see if I can get some shots up from the rescue flight too.. No issues with my tummy Brett, but sometimes I suspect I've got a tin can in there as it rarely acts up on me regardless of what I toss at it
