stu7708 244
Great shots Alan, but I can't remember a flaps lever/indicator from the few training flights I did in hot air balloons 15-20 years ago
dodgy-alan 1,587
Great shots Alan, but I can't remember a flaps lever/indicator from the few training flights I did in hot air balloons 15-20 years ago I agree with you but it's the only way to control the thing, you release the parkbrake to let it loose. full throttle powers the burner, and "full flaps" mkes it climb once at your desired altitude you shut off the burner and she'll bob along quite happily. when you want to come down, you "retract the flaps" and this releases the vent in the top of the envelope, you will then descend. to turn or level the angle you use the joystick. this makes the pilots head tild in the direction you want to face. there is also a female passenger aboard but she's not interested in you, she just stares at the spotter pilot no matter where you approach from! There are a few little gliches on the model, ie I just cannot get the basket textures to appear in the VC mode or on the outside of the basket, so it appears white. that aside it's an enjoyable model that allows you to drift over the countryside as long as you like without having to do much! (also handy if you want to make coffee or prepare food! it'll still be there when you come back!)
