Torpedo Air Cargo 0
Morning y'all, After lurking about for quite some time, it's time to participate a bit more actively A couple of days ago, I started my own AH company in career mode. Obviously "I'm gonna haul stuff with me bird whacker" is a viable business model in Germanyland, so with said bird whacker and a 100.000 monies of EU funding in the bank, I found myself looking through a list of airports to settle down at. My requirements were simple. It should be in East Germany, since, well, I was born there and it should cost no more than the 100K I got from the Brussels types, since I don't want to start in debt. As a programmer, I'm well familiar with Murphy's law, so no reason to tempt fate. It should also should have a runway of sufficient length to support at least medium jets and it shouldn't be too busy so I won't mess up traffic whenever I'm huffing and puffing home in me rackety bird whacker. Although that's one more wish than even Kinder Surprize promises to fulfill, I found a reasonable candidate - Altenburg-Nobitz near the Czech border. It's in East Germany (just), costs 95.000 to open a base at, has a runway long enough to support a daily 737-800 of Ryanair and is reasonably quite in terms of traffic. But the really sweet part is to look at what is within 200nm: Berlin, Dresden, Leipzig (DHL Hub), Munich, Manching(EADS, Audi), Brunswick (Volkswagen), Nuremburg, Prague, Vienna, Linz, Bern - sweeeet. Sure enough, the Berliners pounced on me like a pack of dogs on a three-legged cat. After only 30 minutes, Brunhilda - our ...erm... robust office lady - had assembled a nice plan of 11 flights in and out of Berlin, 5 of those from one Berlin airport to another So I had 5 flights of less than 20 nm with the longest of the others being from Nobitz to Tegel at 90nm. After only 8 hours of flying I was at 45.5 rep. Sweeeet. Long story short - after only 3 days of - admittedly somewhat intense - flying I had made enough of a name that I got a nice leasing offer for a Rockwell Aero Commander. Jebus Christ on a pogo stick! Compared to me bird whacker that thing goes like stink! Up to 12.000 she'll climb like a home sick angel even with a full load. To make matters even sweeter, DHL from nearby Leipzig contracted the thing right away for their smaller jobs And just as you think it doesn't get better, Brunhilda comes running with our first mission for DHL. Three jobs to Augsburg and they all fit in one go with fuel to spare. Sweeeeet! But of course there's murphy. After landing at Augsburg, the flaps packed in - 7 grand in the bin Anywho, now after 4 days of hard work TCA has a nice 60K in the bank and at 53% rep, we can soon start to hire
