  4. From what I've read, STENDEC wasn't an established radio abbreviation with BSAA, but one of the possible explanations is STandard ENroute DE(s)Cent - Standard Enroute Descent. One of the widely accepted explanations for Star Dust's loss is that the navigator hadn't factored high altitude head winds ( the jet stream ) into his calculations, and so the aircraft wasn't as far along it's intended track as he thought. Consequently, the descent into Santiago inadvertently commenced early, and unfortunately before the aircraft had cleared the Andes mountain range. Standard Enroute Descent - the last

  5. My father explained to me that the lancaster (lancastrian) was an inferior aircraft to the Halifax (halton) which he flew for BOAC after the war to west africa because of its liquid cooled engines. the problem comes when they fly in icing conditions ie high over mountains , the ice being acreeted and also being thrown off the props peens over the radiator fins, thus blocking the passage of air, causing the engines to over heat. If you are over mountains when this happens you cannot descend to get rid of the ice, or to land to repair the radiators, so you crashed . it was exactly this that

  8. Man, even France could have won this game !! Brazil's new flag I think for the brasilian team, one of the worst moment must have been when Schürrle got a standing ovation from the brasilian fans for his wonderful second goal, and a few minutes later when Germany was passing the ball to each other to eat time, and the whole stadium was going "Ole !" on each pass... Brasilian fans did not all loose their sense of humour : " The worst part is that there won't be any hospital to cure my depression." Or this one : " Can someone explain me how it can be that a knee hi

  9. I feel the right thing to do is, for all of us to support Darren and Vikki in what they are doing for our enjoyment. ES has given the flight sim' community some outstanding scenery in the past and ES Autogenesis is the next step in their ever improving scenery. For Us! Let's not get hung up on the drive. You either keep it, or return it, simple. I'm hijacking this thread forthwith, to start a 'Support for Darren & Vikki' and all the other developers out there, who give their time to giving us the best they can. Rant over!

  10. I watched the game. Brazil were shameful. They played the usual South American game with all its dirty tricks, including one obvious dive in the German Box. The ref wasn't fooled by it but he didn't give a yellow card for it, which I thought was a poor decision. Brazil's defense was shocking. The Germans, however, played a good and clean game and had a good tight defense, a gifted goalkeeper, and a clever and resourceful attack. The best side won, and really should have scored more. It is a Brazilian to shout Ole! for each successful pass their team makes during a prolonged period
