  1. Hi all, I thought I'd take advantage of the lovely weather and embark on a nice relaxing VFR tour of England. I started out from EGCB Barton in Manchester to EGMC Southend. I picked out some places to see with Plan-G, made my flight plan and set off on a 2.5 hr journey in the Just Flight Cessna 152. This was all flown manually, as the aircraft has no autopilot.   2. A few years ago, as many of my stories start, I used to have my aztec serviced at rushett farm, near Chessington zoo. The runway there was very short (400m) so one had to be on ones toes to land there and not run through the fence at the end. However I was able to carry out all the work on my a/c whilst being supervised and signed off, by the engineer there , so cutting costs. At the same time there were other a/c based there , one was a morava L200 or something like that, it was a weird twin with engines that looked like a zlins. However I sort of digress.   3. sad story Alan this case could have easily ended tragically for very simple reasons i got some of the report translated; it appears the instructor trusted the students verbal confirmation for some of the preflight checks its little confusing; he reports the students had issues concluding the right wing fuel amount, than the instructor replaced the student after he reported issues with the left wing as well it was later confirmed with local surveillance cam that the instructor did in fact only test the left wing fuel amount; after the student handed him the gauge showing the right fuel a

  4. At the end of the day, as Al said, they walked away from the landing, the instructor will get his comeuppance if it is deemed necessary. It made for an interesting video for the rest of us.
