  1. The Airtruk, as it came to be know in its last iteration, had an interesting development history. In this case, the image Kieran displayed was of the Bennett / Waitamo PL-11 'Airtruck' (note the spelling of Airtruck with a 'c'), and produced in New Zealand. The only two produced crashed within days of their first flights. It was later redesigned and developed by the Transavia Corporation in Australia as the PL-12 'Airtruk' (no 'c'). The PL-12 used a range of Continental and Lycoming 6 and 8 cylinder engines. The PL-12 was rather successful and there where about 120 produced, with at le

  4. Alan, I would question whether this is a conversion. My guess is it is original with a Pratt & Whitney, R-1340, nine cylinder, air cooled, radial engine, 550 hp (410 kW), because it's the 11 not the 12. Cheers Andrew

  5. It's such a truck, and for ugly, it's an 11. Obvious ag sprayer but it's older brother made a famous appearance in a movie about Max, flown by Bruce, and with Tina playing the lead female.

  6. Chris - when do you sleep? Creating all this nighttime scenery appears to have seriously affected your diurnal behavior to the point where you develop scenery 24/7. :-) ian

  8. I like this solution. Except i would go for a full clean reinstall and then start installing the add on-s. That issue looks like when i tried to save time and did the same - copy back the airplanes from a prev install. Some planes needs to be installed using the installer, cannot be copied. Since you have issues with the ultralight too, something is really messed up there. But look at the bright side - at least you got Acceleration. . Good luck!

  10. Thanks. Now hopefully installing Acceleration will fix it up. I hope it's not a Gremlin.

  11. I'm not sure where to look for it nor what it is. I don't remember doing anything with it. Alan, it would help to know if DX10 is indeed off. Click on your Settings button from the Main page/click on Customize button at the bottom of the Display Settings section/ from the Graphics tab, make sure that the Preview DirectX 10 is NOT checked. This will help us move on to other things to look at.

  12. This is possibly a problem with a corrupted SP2. I would be inclined to make a copy of your Simobjects and Gauges folders (if you have installed any add-ons), then re-install FSX from the ground up, following the usual instructions about starting FSX before moving to the next step, etc. Install Acceleration and test again. You can then see if the problem remains and, if not, grab those add-on aircraft (plus gauges) from the saved folders. Simples! (Sounds of meerkat purring, off). Good Luck, Al'! Cheers - Dai.
