Finished February Theme: Best of British
twright replied to mutley's topic in Screenshot Contests Archive
Hey all! Thought i'd try my hand this time round after a long absence as i've recently got back into Flight Simming! I see that these two aircraft have already been posted so I hope this is ok. It's a difficult theme actually! Kick off with the BAe Jetstream 41, Eastern bringing commuters into London City at dawn.. And one of the Britten-Norman BN2 Islander, Skybus coming into St Mary's in the Isles of Scilly.. Subject to change! Best of luck people! Regards, Tom -
Hi, This isn't a bug. The real aircraft shows the message "TO INHIBIT" on the upper ECAM during take off too. It simply means that the ECAM is inhibited from showing any unimportant warning/status messages during the takeoff run that may distract the pilots. Regards, Tom

Ok here are mine: Regards, Tom

Hi guys! Could someone please confirm that the JustFlight forum and website is down? I can't seem to access either of them today, though I have just been notified i've recieved a PM on it. Thanks, Tom

The Next Level Simulations one looks really nice. The A300-B4 project of theirs looks good as well.
-
Wow! Looks like you had an amazing time - i'm jealous!! I assume you got to do this through your dad? Must be amazing to get up close and personal with the aircraft - they look massive up close, especially the GE-90 777 engine you stood in front of! I did my work experience last summer on the London Underground and got to go underneith trains in the depot and ride in the cab!
-
Cool! I suppose it's slightly similar but with only two engines. Heres mine: No clues to start with because it's probably too easy!!
-
Woah that's tricky - I can see the labels for the controls on the glareshield are in Russian, but theres only a small number of aircraft the Russians produced with glass cockpits. Is it the Antonov 148 ?
-
Hmm... Is it a Tupolev TU 204 ?
-
Ah I didn't see that. That's what I need! Cheers Mutley!

Hi again! I downloaded a free 30 day trial of Adobe Photoshop CS3, and was having a go at repainting the Flying Club Warrior in the colours of G-BSXA (fairly simple I thought because it consists of a lower red part and a white upper part with a couple of straight red stripes down the side!) I intended to follow the tutorial from the POSKY forum on painting the LVLD 767, but do it for the Warrior. I created textures in Aeropaint, but instead of being plain white, they were still in the colours of the default FC Warrior. Also, it didn't have the layers set up and I'm a bit stuck as to how to
-
It's not bad! If I'm sticking to Biggin Hill ones I might do BTNH instead, as it's similar to BSXA but blue. Those two are easier because they have straight stripes, rather than BOTI and BNXT which have 'swirly ribbon markings'! Have you flown in BSXA or any of the others there by any chance? BSXA is the nicest I think because it has nicer upholstered seats inside. BNXT has a GNS430 on the panel though!

Cool! The only thing now is getting some software to do it! I don't think I can pay $650 for Photoshop! This is the aircraft I want to paint: http://www.abpic.co.uk/popup.php?q=1011130 but it's complicated because the lines aren't straight and the silver stripe is almost pearlescent! How you would paint this?! Thanks, Tom
-
That's an incredible livery! I've tried to build a few objects for the freeware train simulator BVE which involves the need for photographs to be used as textures for the object - that's why I was getting confused! I gather from the tutorials now that for FS aircraft you only use photo's for reference, but still paint the livery onto the aircraft yourself. I'll try painting a livery for the Warrior - I'll try and download the time limited demo of Photoshop to do this and see how I get on! Many thanks, Tom
-
Thanks Mutley! That tutorial is good, but how would I go about creating a real world livery - one from a photo, instead of drawing on the lines and colours etc, using the freeware Paint.net? Thanks again, Tom

Hi guys! I'd like to create some repaints for the JustFlight Flying Club Warrior of aircraft that are at my local flying club at Biggin (G-BOTI, G-BNXT, G-BTNH or G-BSXA). However I have never repainted an aircraft before (and haven't got a clue how to do it!) so require a little help with how to get started! Do you need Photoshop to create good quality repaints (I assume so)? Also I assume you need photos of the actual aircraft you wish to paint to use as textures? If so, which sides and how big/closeup do the pictures have to be? Many thanks, Tom
-
Hi guys! Inspired by the previous entries, I decided to enter again! Here is my entry, a shot of the Boeing FA 18 Hornet taken from the cockpit of another whilst on a high-speed mission! Only things done to it are the colours brightened up a little using the standard Windows picture viewer tools. Kind regards, Tom

Thanks Mutley! A nice forum you have here! Ah different product. I used the Just Flight version. The one from Horizons is their own VFR Photographic Scenery Generation X product. They're ultimately the same sort of thing although in some circumstances there is variation in the textures. -

Yes it's JustFlight's VFR Real Scenery Volume 3 demo. I downloaded it actually not for the purpose of taking screenshots but just to see what it was like. I loaded it up and was absolutely stunned at the detail, so I just had to post some shots of it! I'm fairly pleased with the results, although my PC literally had smoke coming out of it to keep up with the detail!! I like your shot a lot - I love the colours you captured and the angle. Well done. -

Hi guys! New to this forum and I have never entered a screenshot competition before but I thought I might as well have a go - got nothing to lose! Anyways, here are my three entries, soaring around the beautiful landscape of Snowdonia: Hope they're good enough! Good luck everyone - I've seen some great posts so far. Kind regards, Tom Wright
