  1. The Boeing Pelican, or the USNC Pelican from Halo?! They have both on that page, lol. I'm gonna guess the Boeing.
  2. Lol this is true! Not much room to complain when the pilot's bringing you vital supplies! I have to agree that Fsp can get stressful. I was pretty nervous. I started a new airline in economic mode on FsPassengers and it really puts the pressure on you to make a good flight for your passengers. It's also unnerving when you're not very experienced with the bigger iron and you hear the little ones crying as their board with their mothers. THAT makes you want to fly super smooth, lol. I really do love VFR, weather permitting, and I used to fly all the time on VATSIM using VFR. I did fly
  3. Love the Basler BT-67. The Douglas DC-3 has been one heck of an epic plane, and that turbo conversion just gives the bird even more life. Should've been called the Phoenix instead of the Gooney Bird just because it always rises from it's own ashes and is still a viable transport plane. Amazing for something created in the 30's. Love the picture, ORBX has some great scenery. Awesome detail, thank you for sharing!
  4. The Captain Sim 737-200? I am not a jet flier. I love my little prop bush planes, as slow and low is very easily manageable for my tiny brain. However, when it comes to flying the big iron, I have always been a fan of the 737. Sadly this includes the default 737-800 that FSX comes with. I don't know if it's considered a big jet anymore...in fact, I know it's not in comparison to what most of you may fly, And I know for a fact that my experience while flying them is extremely limited. But then on a whim I came across the Captain Sim 737-200 the next to original '37 and I had to pick it up.
  5. Now I've gone to double posting. For shame... Anyways, here's another dog fight vid, this one is also in Rise of Flight. It's one of my favorites, so I was hoping to share it here with you all. Thanks in advance for the views! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puJu1p-8130
  6. Thanks everyone. I'm glad it's not too much of a job to read my posts. I wanted to add so much more of a story to the original post, but I figured if it was anything like my Far West thread, it'd be too burdensome. Now that I know the majority of the people kind enough to take a look at my posts don't mind so much, I'll definitely add in more of a story-like narrative, more detail, and dialogue. However, I think I'll attempt to find a balance and still try to keep the posts shorter. I can't thank you guys enough for the kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures, Mr. Manzo. That is
  7. I'm gonna resurrect my own dead thread. How's that for self service? Wait...gross....scratch that. Anyways...since I've started a new Air Hauler company in FSX away from Bowerman, I thought it'd be fitting to post the video I made back when I first converted my FSX to run in Direct X 10 preview mode after applying the necessary shader fixes. It was more of a test but I did my best to make it somewhat entertaining. I used Bowerman as the airfield to begin my test, and so I view this as a farewell to my old base. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mVDa_riOjQ Enjoy!
  8. Thanks everyone for the great replies! I'm glad everyone enjoyed it. It's funny, I decided that my posts in Far West Air Taxi were...well they were way too darned long. Novels, almost. I enjoy writing, and in fact, I attempted to write fiction novels and still have the urge once in awhile to do so. So since I had to put Far West Air Taxi down because I lost so much time with it while I was moving, I decided to start a new company, and consequently a new thread. However I really, really wanted to keep it short and sweet. After reading your replies I looked over my post and it's still a fre
  9. The self taught, unlicensed, uninsured, and scared pilot, Lee Redfield's PIREPs: 10/11/13: Far West Air Taxi had to sit for a long time while I moved, and besides that, the constant hounding of Global Freightways to sell to them was irritating. (Actually in FSX that damn C208 from Global was always in and out of Bowerman forcing me to perform go around most times I was landing, and I wanted a bit of a change of scenery.) So as it happens I decided to go ahead and sell Far West to Global Freightways. I also sold them the Beechcraft Baron 58, but my Cessna 185 with Tundra tires (strange
  10. ^ LMAO, Matt! And yet, everytime you run his arse into the ground pulling 60 hour shifts and fire him before he can have his fat paycheck AND steal the credit for his work, he keeps coming back at the start of every new month. It's like the movie Ground Hog's Day if it were sent straight to hell. I'd hate to ask what this boss did to you to warrant such abuse of his virtual self, but seeing as how all of us here at Mutley's are stand up guys, suffice it to say I know it's horrible enough for him to deserve it.
  11. The only thing I can think of for this situation: http://nooooooooooooooo.com/ <<< (It's real give it a shot. Fits the situation. If I'm not allowed to post off-site links, the moderators have my apologies! )
  12. I like your ideas of combining the planes you enjoy into one big, really fun to fly fleet! I have heard of the Globemaster, but I never really looked into it any further. I just looked it up and did some research on it and I have to say, it's a very interesting looking bird. It's like a fat guppy with the wings and engines of a DC-6! I'll have to see if I can get one into my FSX to try out. Part of my problem is that most freeware add-on planes, not matter how masterfully designed, I cannot simply use anymore, because I started to run my FSX in Direct X 10 preview mode with the necessary s
  13. An outstanding amount of information, Gentlemen! Thank you so much. I guess maybe I shouldn't be too horribly concerned with realism as much as I am, and maybe focus on finding a good balance. My flights are about 100-200 nm in length, so based on what John said about real world general aviation, I feel better, but I had to laugh very hard at his points about the lard-ass hunters, lol! @Quickmarch: I'm jealous. I would love to be so close to some operators of charter airlines like that. I'd be over on their property annoying them everyday with questions and just staring in awe and so
  14. Hey guys! I moved. It has been hectic. It has been horrible. It has been incredibly stressful. And I didn't even move out of town. It was an in town move, less than 5 miles from my old apartment. Anyways, me and the soon to be wife have bought our own home now, and I'm happy to say I have unpacked my Toshiba Qosmio and its gloriousness (which includes FSX!) and I have been able to squash the flying bug a few times. But, my flights have only been mostly setting tweaking and fun little jaunts. Now that I'm more unpacked and better able to actually sit and make some more purposeful fl
  15. Hahaha! Congratulations sir! I've only been with my better half for about 5 going on 6 years now. I really need to get my act together and marry her, before she figures out I'm not a catch! lawls. Thank you so much! I started writing when I was 8 years old, off and on. Stayed in from recess and such to handwrite little stories and ridiculousness, lol. I haven't ever really finished a novel like I intended. I got somewhat further into a science fiction I started writing when I was 19 years old. Only about 200 pages into it before I just stopped. I'm 24 now, and I keep writing beca
  16. "Uhh, folks, this is your captain speaking. You may notice I've turned on the seatbelt sign, as we're expecting a bit of turbulence from up here in the flight deck. It appears we're going to run over a 727 here on final. We ask that you just sit back and relax and ignore any flaming debris. Thank you."

Amazing stuff man! Great job, please keep posting these.
  18. LOL! Sadly, in real life, I cannot actually swim. As for what brought me down, I was shot up pretty good, and lost an aileron. It was very difficult to continue turning into that second German fighter, who favored doing head on boom and zoom passes. Every turn had to be done with the rudder pedals, which is why I almost went into a stall spin several times (the part where I give the trees a buzzcut is an example) and eventually on the final pass, despite the use of the rudder and one aileron, I could not bring the nose up again, and just happened to pancake straight into that pond.
  19. And thank you for watching! The only reason I had any semblance of efficiency in that video is because I have spent a lot of time on said wrong end of said missiles, lol. This run was pure luck and I just happened to kind of look cool doing it which was a bonus. I recently started playing the free DCS World with it's included free SU-25T module (the SU-25T is like the Russian answer to the A-10C Thunderbolt "Warthog" ) and have been getting turned into a lawndart a whole bunch. I should upload a fail compilation of that! Even when missiles aren't involved I do not always do well. I get ta
  20. Thanks much! I have to admit, I love making videos of this sort of thing. Short and sweet, and fun to watch. At least, that's my goal. Thanks for watching! I started flying for the first time on my uncle's computer when I was just six years old. The game was Microsoft's Combat Ace. Flew all the time day in day out for as long as were were in Medford visiting. I eventually got my hands on a copy and played non-stop on the old machines my dad and I put together (we couldn't afford a proper desktop at the time.) From Combat Ace I went over to Combat Flight Simulator. Eventually I saw M
  21. That is too funny!!! And sadly enough, sounds exactly like something my fiancee would do to me. She may even do worse. I don't wanna find out.
  22. Lol. Well, what a shame! They can't tell you what to do when you're off duty, though, right? I'm just plain not allowed to fraternize ever again since I've been engaged. But at least I can look.
  23. @ Mutley: Uhhh...heh...the C-130? (If you're referring to something else, I'm a bit slow witted today and missed it! ) Another caption: C-130 Crew To Captain: Yo, boss! The pizza guy's here!
  24. Okay, so it's not quite related to Flight Simulator X or even Flight Simulator 2004, but it is still technically a flight sim. It's Strike Fighter's 2 by Thirdwire. And here is my latest quick mission flying the MiG-19 Farmer field modified to carry 2 Atoll heat seeking missiles. My flight of four got called up to intercept some F-84 Thunderstreaks making an attack run on our airfield. I was quite succesful, if only by luck.
