  1. Number two is C-130 from Australian HeavyLift Cargo airline. This particular one is heading for landing in Guam.
  2. I'll start this one off with an Arrow Cargo unloading at the cargo terminal in Miami.
  3. Sad. Both for the people and another 727 gone.
  4. Piper Seneca out of Halifax at sunset. Boy was it cold out. Had the cabin heater blasting on full. Brrrrr!
  5. I've got that book. It is a wealth of useful and easy to absorb information. Takes you all the way from complete Novice to Commercial pilot if you so wish. Teaches you the basics of flight and navigation and takes you into serious flight planning.
  6. My third. Just chillin' by the campfire in Tasmania after a fun day of flying in the float plane.
  7. Seneca somewhere in Australia. Can;t exactly remember where but sort looks like the outback. Who knows.
  8. ARNZX Medevac on a rescue. Called in to rescue a passenger off a ferry boat and bringing her back to a hospital in Sydney for treatment. Taking off! There's the ferry boat Getting closer for the hoist Passenger loaded and heading back. Passing a lighthouse on the way in as the sun is setting. Approaching Sydney enroute to the hospital.
  9. Just Flight's Rescue Pilot.
  10. There was a forest fire, reportedly lit by a careless camper who neglected to heed the warnings about the dry conditions and failed to properly extinguish his campfire. The only road out of town was blocked and the fire was rapidly approaching so being that I work for the forestry service, I was tapped to fly in and evacuate some of the people before the fire put the airport out of commission. It wasn't easy dodging all of the smoke and flames, but as I was leaving with the first load of evacuees the fire department was on scene trying to get it under control.
  11. That must be one of those new plane-boats I've heard about.

    That first shot is fantastic!
  13. Nice shots. Too bad about the power outage, it can be very frustrating. But a pilot must be prepared for any all in-flight emergencies.
  14. Great shots Alan! They almost look real! Sims are amazing nowadays!
  15. A cost index of 30? Wow! On most of my aircraft (MD-80, DC-10, EMB 190) I use typically use a cost index of 500. I find it a nice compromise between speed and efficiency. 30 will save a lot of virtual fuel but will take a long time to get there assuming that you use the calculated speeds from the FMC
  16. I do not have that aircraft, but as far as I am aware, cost index is used in determining flight levels and speed to determine the fuel burn, but the only thing that affects the overspeed indicator on the PFD is the flight level. The higher you go, the higher that rises. Are you remembering to set it Mach when you get above 25,000 ft? Could also be a bug in the aircraft. Have you checked the forums for the developer? This is from my MD-80 operating manual The cost index is used in the computations of ECON speed. A low cost index means lower speed and lower fuel c
