  1. Thursday 23rd December Display Card breakthrough! We have finally managed to get a 6-Digit 7-Segment Display Unit to fully work with the Displays Card (kindly supplied for a review by Opencockpits). There will be two of these displays, identical, and they will handle the "HF" (High Frequency) controls on the 767 Overhead. Jack :icon_thumbup:
  2. Wednesday 22nd December 2010 For those of you who have missed the regular updates on the Pedestal... Fear not. I am happy to announce that at New Year I will be purchasing, along with some other hardware items, the Opencockpits Rudder and Aileron Trim Panel. http://www.opencockpits.com/catalog/rudder-trim-indicator-with-panel-p-277.html?cPath=48 This is a fully working and fully functional Rudder and Aileron Trim Panel. as you can see from the picture above, it includes the Beoing Trademark "Big Fat" Rudder Knob, and two fully-operation spring-release aileron switches. The "Creme de la C
  3. 20th December 2010 There hasn't been an update in awhile, but fear not! The reason for the lack of updates is not because we have all disappeared, but more because we are in a very laborious stage. This fiddly little proportion of the overhead panel (highlighted in red)... ...Has done very well in consuming most of our free time. Allow me to explain: There are twenty annunciators at the top of column 2 (again, see picture above). Each single annunciator takes a good few hours to make - Every annunciator has a casing, which we must affix LEDs inside of, before soldering some circuitry on
  4. Maybe we could have a Christmas quiz or something instead?
  5. Thanks everybody! I'm sorry if some of the pictures were a little blurred, but my (higher-res) Kodak ran out of battery and I had to wait 3 hours for it to charge, so I just switched to an odler model for the real-world shots. Not too bad I hope. @Rob: I think the overhead panel itself must eat up an extra £15 a year in electricity  . @Joe: Excellent point! Where did the baton go? :icon_yikes: . Thanks alot everyone else :001_th_smiles89: .
  6. The penultimate-to-the-penultimate flight sees our afforementioned pilot Alain (who, unfortunately, lost his first officer, Nick, after he tried to steal the baton) fly us to BIKF, Rekjavik, in Iceland. First officer-ing this flight will be Dave; friend of Alain and also pilot of Leg 013. Late afternoon on a cold, rainy day... A beautiful ANA 767 lay upon the tarmac of the small airport of Narsarsuaq. Our pilots quickly sprinted across the scuffed taxiways to get into the nice warm cockpit of the 767-300. Alain was pleased to see the aircraft had been fitted with winglets. Alain: Whoa. Loo
  7. Almost time for my next leg... And yes, Overhead, Pedestal, Instrument Panel... "The Works" will be making an appearence!
  8. Thanks David! :icon_thumbup: Sound Proof - I wish. You can hear 'em from the top of my village!
  9. Thank you very much Tom! And Mike, thanks too. Belive me, you're not the only one who can't believe it has been a year  .
  10. Thanks Rob, Kerian and Adrian! :icon_thumbup:
  11. Hi Brian, Thank you very much for your kind words :001_th_smiles89: . Thanks very much mate! I do try hard with my reviews as they are one of the few things I truly enjoy all the way through.
  12. Fairly hard, but I think it was a weak drumskin/head.
  13. Thank you very much Joe! I'm having a great day! Presentw-se, I even received a present from Opencockpits in the form of the Displays Card + Displays =D. I'm going to Derby tomorrow to repair my drumkit; one has developed an alarmingly big hole! Also I'd like to say a happy birthday to Tre Cool of Green Day too. I've always been happy that I popped out just one day after his birthday! :icon_thumbup:
  14. BTW Joe; Bradley was born and bred in Hampshire (Poole). :icon_thumbup: Here is my snow pictures: Deepest recorded snowpoint: Bradley looking cute: Bradley attacking a tree: Sprinting Bradley:
  15. Hi Joe, How much did you get exactly? We accumulated 55cm! Poor old Bradley was buried in the stuff .
  16. Hi Joe, Private videos can not be embedded from YouTube.
  17. Hi guys, Just a post to see if everyone has managed to watch the video? Please say if not, I will sort it out for you. Jack :001_th_smiles89:
  18. Sunday 28th November The second video blog has been completed and uploaded! :icon_thumbup: This blog is 15 Mintues long, and runs through a quick talked-through pre-flight procedure using the first column of the overhead panel. You also get closeups, light tests, and much more. The proceduer to watch this video is EXACTLY the same as the last video. You'll get a private message (on YouTube)/email link that lets yo uwatch the video. You must have added me as a friend on YouTube. Enjoy! Jack In other news, the second column is progressing nicely. More news very soon (this week).
  19. Thanks very much Brian & Joe! Anybody fancy baking a cake?
  20. Heya Joe, Once again, thanks so much; presentation is first class =D. BTW; The image link seems to be taking me to the USBServos review, not USBLCD. Not sure if anyone else is having this problem? EDIT: Fixed links
  21. Saturday 20th November Happy birthday Pedestal Project! :bday: Yes, it has been exactly a year since I first opened this thread to the community here... And what can I say. It has grown. I predicted I'd be completely finished around now, and, whilst that is mainly true, there are still a few things left. Thank you everybody for your support! Looking forward to another year of hardware goodness!!! :001_th_smiles89: Jack
  22. Here's another one for you lads. This time the song is American Idiot. Again, a quick unprepared one minute warm up. I just recorded for fun. I'm working on a video Brian =D. Thanks Stu for your interest. I used two professional drum microphones, a "Yoga D727" which is more suited to the general beat of hi-hat+snare. My second Microphone is a "Yoga D636", more suited to the very choing sound of the bass drum and tom toms. The D636 is mounted above and imbetween the hi-tom and mid-tom. The D727 is mounted next to my cymbal, to the right of my whole setup. When used together, these produ
  23. Hi Brian, No problems here, W7-74Bit. nHancer will not yet work with the latest driver offerings by nVidia. It's best to revert to the old (and, in my opinion) better 190.0 drivers.
  24. Oh I bet you would. You should see my hair :icon_thumbup: . By the way, me and my band are recording the FULL Album of "American Idiot" by Green Day. We're donig the songs in order, and having currently cracked song no1 (American Idiot), we're onto number 2, Jesus of Suburbia; hence why I used the drum fills.
