  1. Hi Waqaas, Indeed the G1000 is an all-digital suite and is commonly found in DA-42s and the like. The usual setup is to have a PFD (Primary Flight Display) which houses all your essentials (ASI, Altimeter, VSI, DG, etc, etc) and a second MFD (Multi Function Display) which can do whatever you want (usually set to a GPS map). One of the best features of these systems is that you can, on the PFD, get a 3D image of the terrain infront of you, so it's just as if you're flying in FSX in an actual aircraft (extremely useful in IMC conditions no doubt). Carenado wise I only have the PA-32
  2. Hi Waqaas, Fair enough, I was just curious as to what the issue was. Speaking of the Garmin 400 series, our C172N is due to be fitted with a Garmin 430 system soon... Guess I'll have to get used to that! Jack
  3. Hi Waqaas, I did a review on VoxATC a few years back and still use the software to this date with the Carenado Seneca. I have no problems tuning frequencies or whatnot using Vox. although I do seem to get some bizarre transmission problems from time to time (which did not occur when I reviewed the software...). Out of interest, what particular thing was going wrong when trying to tune the radio (you mention knowing the "exact operation of the radio"). Cheers, Jack
  4. Saturday 31st August New Features: Column 4 COMPELTE! - Cabin pressurization gauges added Upcoming Features: Development of Column 5, consisting of: - Cargo Air Conditioning Controls - Cabin Air Conditioning Controls - Engine + APU Bleed Air Controls Description Column 4 has finally been completed and will be installed into the overhead panel in due course. The only ("only") things left to do now are develop column 5 and the sixth segment which fits underneath the whole panel, housing things like the landing light switches, etc. The final bit of work we ha
  5. Hi Dave, Thanks very much for the kind words. Speaking of nostalgia, I feel privileged to be able to fly these particular aircraft since everything (bar the GPS) is so 70s. The second you get in, that instant "70s oil smell" which any aviation enthusiast will have experienced when handling and/or dismantling any pressure instrument or cabin constructed in the 60s/70s. It's a privilege to be able to fly something that has been worked day in day out for 40 years; the fuselage creaks and cracks yet you know the airframe is sound, it's like a living, breathing thing. Why is this "nostalig
  6. Tuesday 27th August 2013 New Features: Column 4 Hardware Additions: - HF Radio (Real world unit; fully completed and interfaced) - SELCAL (Selective Calling) Controls - Passenger signs controls - Landing Altitude display & controls - Cabin pressurization controls Upcoming Features: Completion of Column 4, consisting of: - Cabin Pressure Gauges Description Column 4 is really looking quite sweet now! It's about 80% complete, with the only major installation left being the cabin pressure gauges (which are already built, just not yet installed into the panel
  7. This guy (author of said article) should work for the AAIB: http://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway_messenger/news/pilot-has-lucky-escape-5130/ I'll just let any budding pilot/aviation ethusiasts find some (very) basic flaws in the report. This report was first pointed out to me by the wingmen over on the FLYER forum. This is why what I call "instant journalism" should be banned. I love the conclusion also: "Mr Carr didn't want to comment further on the incident until a thorough investigation had been completed. " Maybe the author needs to take a hint! Jack
  8. Just noticed your post Rob, are you prophetic! Haha! The Pedestal is currently awaiting photography for an update; it's currently in the workshop and we are waiting for a very special component (circa 3 weeks time) to arrive. Unfortunately nothing until then! But take my word this time, in 3 weeks it'll be worth it! We've also "matured" a hell of a lot in our design approach since the early days. It used to be the case that we'd throw in avionics from different aircraft to get a rough representation of what we wanted. Now, however, we are going for full functionality, which is why the
  9. We'll hopefully get some pictures of the overhead running with FSX when we get it installed again. It's currently in the workshop (study) downstairs being worked upon, so no connection to FSX at the moment!
  10. Hi Brian, Thanks very much for your excellent work, please see PM .
  11. Cheers Brian and Brett! How's those signatures coming along .

  13. Affirm Brian! In fact, I believe the Pedestal Project banners still read 747... Could you work some photoshop magic and produce some 767 ones? Just a thought!
  14. Well well well! Late 2013 and the pedestal project is firing up again... We have a VERY special item arriving very, very soon. Stay tuned.
  15. Hello everybody, Around a month back I first heard the story of a Cirrus aircraft crashing in the channel over on the Flyer GA Forums. Whilst at first this seems like every other light aircraft crash case, the story has since gone viral with the suggestion that the pilot faked his own death. No mayday call, no deployment of the BRS (Ballistic Recovery System), and, most interestingly, the aircraft wreckage (seems) to have been found with the pilot and pilot seat missing. The twist? Said pilot was a rather wealthy Russian banker. This was the story as published by Sky back in July, pre-
  16. Purple trees? Maybe in Balamory or something similar! I wouldn't put it past the airports to charge you for anything these days... Alot of them charge you for having to "turn on the ILS" if you make an ILS approach. Although with a touch and go, a swift application of full throttle should see you escaping from said airport without a charge need to be paid ... Not strictly legal.
  17. Yes we should be going to Cosford unless some unforseen circumstance arises.
  18. Maybe I should have that pose on my Mutley's Hangar ID Card at the next show... Then nobody will dare mess with me.
  19. Just found a few more photos of the final leg that didn't upload to PB first time round for some reason. Leg 4 - Goodwood (Chichester) to Netherthorpe Another view from the helm: Engine working hard: Beautiful altocumulus cloud, last few sightings of clear blue skies as we head north: Cloud base clearly lowered: Pilot + "Co-Pilot": Wing view: Popham airfield as we fly over it: Witney, with Duckington Lake in lower central: Barford St John Disused: Leicester: East Mids again:
  20. I have just noticed I appear to be standing on my toes in said photograph... Could this get any worse?????
