Bournemouth EGHH this morning - Warning many pictures

Recommended Posts

I took myself down to Bournemouth this morning, picked up my Sister and Bro In Law and had breakfast in the flying school whilst watching some action.

Unfortunately the flying school is on the western side of the airfield so you are looking straight into the sun, as you can see the sun was low so the colours are not brilliant.

There's a lot of GA, flying schools and the like, this is an American AA-1 taxiing past.

On her take off run, the aircraft in the background is a Lockheed L.188CF Electra of Atlantic Airlines

This aircraft is often just sat there, its a Boeing 737-300QC of Titan Airways, this one carries large freight for the Post Office

Notice all the fluid pouring out of the King Airs wing? Not sure what it was, could it be fuel?

You are probably looking at the nose of the PA-28, I was looking to the light in the distance!

I thought I had seen this guy at RIAT last year so looked up some photos Fred sent me, well it wasn't this one but two brothers flying in formation with Hawk T1's

Great photos, Mut! That looks like a busy and interesting place. How far from where you live?

Thanks for posting them - I really enjoyed them.

That might have been fuel from the KA. Had he just made a hard left turn? The high-point vents are often in/near the tips.

Fantastic Joe! I know you were looking forward to this, must have been a nice day out :mrhappy: The Austrian A321 must have been a good find! I wonder if the PA28 departing after it had any problems with turbulence. And I love that shot of the Piper's nose, very artistic. Those Twin Stars look great, the student seems a bit annoyed though!

Thanks for posting, excellent shots.

Dave :-)

Hi John,

About 30 miles for me, about 2 miles down the road from my sisters house, there was a lot more GA going on, all this happened whilst I was enjoying a bacon sandwich and a cup of coffee outside the clubhouse.

The main terminal and apron was way over the other side of the airfield I didn't bother driving around as you cannot get that close, it was a great morning!

Cheers

Dave :-)

Wouldn't ATC only let him depart after a certain period of time, as it was a LIGHT after a MEDIUM?

Great pictures there Mut, loving the mix of GA and heavy(ish) metal.

I have a couple of points about the pic with the heli in.

1) That aircraft (G-LENI) i have done a rotors-refuel on, during my work experience at Gloucestershire, and I believe is a regular there!

2) What is the T-Tailed jet in the background? BAC-1-11?

So it's really Bournemouth for the continent - well, you learn something new everyday!

Aside from that, Joe, many thanks for sharing - it's been p*ss*ng down here all day... (so you know what the weather's going to be like with you tomorrow! Ed)

Cheers - Dai. :mrhappy:
