britfrog 180
there I was floating around a few hills and valleys minding my own business came around a corner and much to my surprise was looking at a ski slope at the right height never let it be said that I dont have a go at most things and no one was more surprised than I, when I pulled it off! needed full power to just stand still! So before some finger wagger came along I turned it around and without using engine power coasted down the hill and regained flying speed with the throttle closed, what fun
Mistwalker 3
Fantastic pics and a great bit of adventure, Brit. Remember to try that in the winter when it's in use. Where is that, btw?
jaydor 345
Love that photoscenery Brit. I was down in the local village and heard that the Prefecture is looking for a crazy pilot who landed on the slopes above and run down some rats & squirrels.. :D PS foto #4 reminds me of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the Bavarian Alps.. britfrog 180
Looks amazing! Tempted, very tempted You wont regret it, France vfr knocks FTX into a cocked hat and with such a huge country to play with and such diverse scenery , although I have quite a bit of their photoscenery, it will be replaced with their 3d VFR offerings which is photoscenery with masses of autogen , which I think will be as close as one can get (with current technology) to flying around a fully 3d photoscenery world
mutley 4,498
A very entertaining post BF and I must say much respect on the quality of the scenery. I am with you, having seen that cleared land is like a red rag to a bull...brilliant!
brett 2,316
The question is...how could you not land on an opening like that. They have a show here called Bait Car that sets up would be car thieves. They could call this Bait Strip. As good as photo scenery is I really like the autogen. Can't wait to see what 3D PS looks like. Nice set of pic's Nigel.
Quickmarch 488
I knew a guy who pulled off a t&g on an aircraft carrier deck. The carrier was docked prior to dismantling for scrap. It was there. He was there in a small Piper. Beware fortuitous circumstance! Transport Canada was not very understanding.

Transport Canada was not very understanding. sadly transport Canada and the british CAA have one thing in common, If orville wright had needed to have a licence or permission from either body we would still be crossing the Atlantic by boat ,,nuff said!! Now here's a thought maybe Pontius really was a pilot but because of his sojourn in the uk he never was allowed to exercise his right to be a pilot !! ta da!!
dodgy-alan 1,587
Nicely done there, I too have a penchant for landing where I'm not supposed to, just because it's there! Check this out at the Berg Al Arab! If it's there, it's got to be done!

dodgy-alan 1,587
I still think this one has to be the riskiest in terms of sheer cheek! especially knowing how trigger happy the Russkis are! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathias_Rust http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=german+pilot+lands+in+red+square&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=dKAIUv6WDIah0QW2roDABw&ved=0CDsQsAQ&biw=1024&bih=

Check this out at the Berg Al Arab! If it's there, it's got to be done! It is weird and very frustrating but no matter what I do I cannot see allans postings on photobucket. I get the grey photobacking with 2 arrows and no matter how long I wait nothing comes up, the tab at the top shows a full address and not as if it is still downloading, even if I log on has anyone any ideas? UKJim 502
Nice shots - and I have to say I want this scenery As there are lots of France VFR scenery - which one is this one? Also what airport did you takeoff/land from? Cheers, Jim UPDATE: I think I found it - http://www.francevfr.com/product_photora2.htm - it that right?

Hi Mate, Not sure what could be causing that as the pics are very definately showing on here, what screen resolution do you have as it may be the pics are too big for your system for some reason, (though I've never heard of that sort of problem happening before). Can everyone else see the pics? please confirm so that we can see if it's a bigger problem.
