TapA321 0
Evenin' All! I am sorry to keep you all waiting with Leg 93, but January isn't really my time of year, and there's been a lot going on what with revising for exams and all the rest of it. Anyway, I found some spare time, and with the baton tucked nicely in my jacket pocket, I set off in search of Vienna. The flight was on the whole very successful, plenty of snow the whole way there  On with the flight... The time is 14:23, we're cleared for our taxi to the active. Plenty of runway for a nice easy rotate. What a beautiful afternoon for flying! 3000ft, flaps to 10. Looks like most of Budapest are tucked away by the fire! Above the clouds now, at 7000ft. We're almost into the cruise, now. That looks like a cold front... Finally into the cruise, with an everlasting horizon in front of us. 15:47. Descending down over Bratislava, soon to be switching to approach. Switching to Tower, 9 miles from the runway, Gear down. Making the final adjustments at 700ft. A salter on the taxiway catches a sneaky snap! ...and touchdown! The lovely airport of Vienna metres away! I can't wait for that nice cup of coffee. Reverse thrust, an Airbus A330 up my backside so we're on the look out for the taxiway. Parked up next to another Lauda 737; all switched off and out safely. Well that's my first contribution to the European Expedition, folks: I hope you enjoyed it. Good luck to all the rest of the flights on what so far has been an excellent ATWC! Now then...where are my skis? Best Regards, George : Tap

ddavid 149
A nice, relaxing and steady flight, George - with some really good angles. Loved the wintry scenery - and the A/C's a blast - fine detail etc. Thanks for your time - an excellent contribution to the E.E.!! Cheers - Dai.
allardjd 1,853
Nice job, Tap, Thanks for flying the leg and providing us with a good post to enjoy. I liked the approach shot best - I guess I have a soft spot for them. EDIT: I think I see columns of smoke in the center background of that shot. Is that part of the airport scenery? Don't recall ever having noticed that in FS scenery before. John
