Cosford 2013

Recommended Posts

So, I have just noticed Cosford 2013 in the banner and took a quick look (at work) - I could get there is about 30mins which would be good.

On the site there is quite a lot of information around who is going to be there and what to expect but from peoples previous experiences would you recommend going to the shows?

Is Cosford a museum and does your £10 entry include a look around? What time does it start and end?

It would be funny to see some people that I have been chatting to on the web, in 'real life' :)

I may have to drop the wife and son off at the grandparents in Birmingham and head down hehe; but it would result in ridicule from the mrs as a complete and utter tech geek.

Please share your experiences ;)

Jim

I hope to be going, barring major disasters. Leave the loved ones at home. Check out some proper PC hardware and the goodies I might fill it with.

Will we be given name tags? If so I'll be wearing my flak jacket.

Jim,

The museum itself is free with loads to see, a great day out!

Depending on whether you purchased a £5.00 or £6.50 ticket early for the show will dictate what you pay to get in, on the day it is a tenner.

This is a new show that needs lots of support to grow, it will be a great day out whatever. I would really like to get a shot of me and any member who is brave enough to say hello and introduce themselves!

No need to geek out but there will be plenty of opportunities to do so!

We look forward to meeting you and all our members.

Cheers,

Joe

Geoff, I will happily write your name on your shirt.  We have a couple of things to pick up such as, tee shirts, cups and mouse mats, you can also have your picture taken with the infamous Around The World Challenge (ATWC) baton.

I'm so excited I could p** myself!!

Seriously, please say hello if you make it there.

Cheers,

Joe

If I end up going I'll definitely say hello. Just gotta see if I have anything going on that day.

It sounds like it would be a great day for sure!

On the site it says if you buy tickets early you get £50 worth of goodies? What kind of goodies do you know?

Cheers

How much are the polo shirts? I want one! :D

George, unfortunately there will be no polo shirts at the show, they are so expensive to buy with the embroidered logo that I cannot afford to keep them in stock. The supplier has minimum order quantities and that equates to hundreds of pounds per order.

I have been looking at an online shop for years but have always worried about quality control. I may in the near future offer a bespoke option for members as I am always getting asked.

Cheers,

Joe

Jim, I am not sure but I think the early bird offer has passed? (Please check the dates)

I wouldn't know what the goodies are, usually it's a couple of dvd flight sim titles.

No unfortunately not Kevin, we will be having a get together with the other exhibitors the night before, after we have set up, probably at our hotel but we will be keen to leave once the show has finished as it is a long way home.

Nice idea though, we should have plenty of time at the show to catch up and there's nothing to stop anyone getting together as you suggested.  :)

Cheers,

Joe

Well I have never been to Cosford so I am looking forward to the museum too - heard great things about the place from mates that have been. Then also seeing the flight sim stands and meeting the guys I have been chatting too since 2011 :)

I was getting in the mood yesterday by looking at the previous sim show in 2012 with some good pictures lol.

Not too long now hehe
