dodgy-alan 1,587
The Draft (very funny vid above Steph, I have been fortunate enough in life to have Man drawers and cabinets throughout the home. They are nothing compared to the Women drawers and cabinets, anyone need twenty-five year old instructions, ripped from and old craft magazine, on how to make a crochet snowman hat or enough mismatched buttons to create a button car cover ) I used to find getting into womens drawers quite easy! Buy them the right drink, say the right words, .....

Alan you must have a way with words, I could never get any of them to lend me their drawers, let alone find ones that would fit me!!!
J G 927
I'm orf dahn the frog ter get some daisys and weasels for the dustbins, may nip in ter the rub a dub fer a drop of apple fritter and catch up wiv a few chinas, It's a bit taters out there, so need ter warm me plates up and have a gypsies at the same time. Got to give one of the lads a gooses fer the whistle he sold me last week. Besides which the barmaids got lovely minces! For our American and European cousins, and also those unfortunates never to have graced the worlds greatest city........ a translation:- I'm off down the road (frog and toad = road) to get some boots (daisys = daisy roots = boots) and coats (weasels = weasels and stoats = coats) for the children (dustbins = dustbin lids = kids), I may call in to the Pub (rub a dub = Rub a dub dub* = pub) for a drop of bitter (apple fritter = bitter) and catch up with a few mates (China plate = mate). Its a bit cold (Taters in the mould = cold) out there, so I need to warm my feet (Plates = plates of meat = feet) and have a piss (gypsies = gypsies kiss = piss) at the same time. Ive got to give one of the lads a cheque (Gooses = gooses neck = cheque) for the suit (Whistle = whistle and flute = suit) he sold me last week. Besides which the barmaid's got lovely eyes! (minces = mince pies = eyes) * Rub a dub dub as in the nursery rhyme 'Rub a dub dub three men in a tub'. Although originating in the East End of London, a fair amount of this slang has found it way into regional English. For example, I didn't know anyone who, by the age of fourteen, didn't know what a Gypsies was, and I was bought up in genteel Surrey.
dodgy-alan 1,587
LOL! You got it John, My old man's a proper cockney and still uses slang to this day, I do at times if only to confuse people. Occasionally I'll turn it around and use proper Yorkshire Tyke which is even more confusing!( I lived in Leeds for 7 years and learnt quite a bit of it!)
hifly 925
Apparently Cockney rhyming slang was used by less honest members of the East End of London community to confuse any eavesdropping constabulary. So let's all ava Knees up.
