Pursuant to the board meeting, held Monday 28th April, 2014 - effective Thursday 1st May, 2014

 

Lease and insurance costs are making it very difficult to show a decent net profit on monthly revenue, the board of QuikAire has decided to downsize the company.

 

As at May 1st, 2014:

 

1. Leased A321 will be purchased outright

2. Leased #2 C-130 will be returned to the leasing company

3. Leased #2 BT-67 will be returned to the leasing company

 

Sadly this economy required the termination of two of our high-time pilots. The board would like to thank Hollie Adams and John Wagstaff for their efforts on behalf of QuikAire and wish them success in their new jobs.

 

The company remains on solid ground with a Net Worth of $86.6 M.

Sometimes it is tough making the hard decisions. Reward yourself by giving yourself a raise or bonus. At least...that is how it's done in the US. :(

 

More like taking an obnoxious amount for a bonus. :D Go for it, your the boss. Maybe even an Embraer Phenom executive jet for those long lunches. :cool:

Don't know if I can do that. I wonder if released pilots go back into a pool that can be accessed for other AH'ers. One would presume that there'd have to be some sort of internet connect to make them available. Maybe if I update my company on the AH Stats site? Really, I think the thing is totally self-contained; ie: loaded to my hard drive without any need to reference the web.

 

Their names are quoted in the announcement, above. Highly recommended high-time 100%'ers. Wagstaff was on the edge for a while because he had a bad start with QuikAire. However, he went on to be a good hire and only got caught up in the latest downsizing because of seniority.

I hope you gave Hollie Adams and John Wagstaff  substantial redundancy payouts.

 

As for the bonus, well it looks like you were doing the right thing to save the company.  In the UK this wouldn't qualify for a bonus.  To get a bonus here you have to shaft the company good and proper. The bigger the shafting and the shorter time you do it provides the higher bonus, and also allows you to move on to your next shafting project.

 

Do this well and you can look forward to receiving several multi-million pound bonuses a year and personally contribute to a substantial slice of the countries unemployment statistic. A sure way to gain brownie points with your colleagues in the industry shafting club.
