As some will know on here, I am a PC12 fan as a result of the Flight 1 edition.  But now things have changed for the better.

I succumbed to the new offering from Carenado and boy am I flown blown away.  :cloudnine:

The graphical result is a totally new enjoyment to behold and it all works no matter what you may have read. (Some people do not know how to handle her). :whis:

So to wet your appetite, here are a few shots of the magic Carenado is famed for as far as graphics go:

I have added the Reality XP Garmin GN530 GPS into the top GPS layout.

With the exception of the yoke, all switches and dials work:

The lighting is impressive:

Even the Perspex lens cover of the landing/awareness light is modelled:

I am very impressed, so the heavies have to take a back seat for awhile..   :hat:  to Carenado..  :pilotic:

Now; does McKinnon get a version?

Such a gorgeous plane...I saw the RL bird leaving San Carlos again yesterday on my way down the 101...farking teasers.

And agreed about "Carenado Magic" as their line is so impressive to fly, always my favorite planes to jump into. Their B1900 and Malibu Jet prop are two of my current favorites. I wonder if Carenado is ever going to branch into heavier birds??? I would love to see what they could do with something with a 20K-30K lb cargo capacity. :D

I am extremely tempted by this plane, due to its short field capability, fantastic looks, and clear view out of the side windows (when compared to something like the RealAir Beechcraft Duke). The one thing that is holding me back is the fact that it is a turboprop, and turboprops are not done any favours by the FSX engine. How does this thing handle on the ground? The RealAir Turbine Duke is a real handful on the ground, and very difficult to keep under control. Is this plane any better? Also, is there a DVD version? It would be nice to unwrap it on Christmas Day ;)

Hi Chris

Unfortunately not at the moment for the DVD.  I use pedals for ground steering so I find no difficulties what so ever.  This is the aircraft you have been waiting for.

I have been using the Flight 1 version for over 2 years and the flight dynamics are the same.  All the controls on the panel work and you will have to get used to a few anomalies flying this craft.

It has super STOL capabilities and is more suited to your type of vFlying than the Phenom.  I fully recommend it.  Although Carenado are not the best with manuals, there are a good few included.

But it is a machine you have to learn to fly.  So ask for an early Xmas prezzy and you will enjoy it..

Thanks for the reply, James. It isn't the steering on the ground that concerns me. It's the power. I hate it when planes "get away from me" on the ground, and I have to constantly reduce and increase power (or fiddle with the condition lever) to try and keep it under control. The Flight1 Citation Mustang was perfect in this department (yet another reason to be pissed off with them for sabotaging the installer) <_<

Chris, no problem in the ground speed power.  I can maintain anywhere between 5kts to 20kts ground speed.

Mind it is important to what type of throttle controller you use.  I use the Thrustmaster Hotus on my main machine and Saitek TPM on my second..

Maybe as the simulations are better designed the flying(and taxing :D ) gets harder, a plus in my book Chris. :) It takes a bit for a jet engine to spool up and taxing become an art of throttle control.
