reef 3
I think what you have achieved is good. VC shots are becoming quite popular these days with improvements in this area. Both ageing shots and also VC shots are both something i have not done much off so found it hard to give some advice without actually trying some things out with your shot. I don't know if it looks any better but here is a list of what i did as you might find some bits useful. Added some lighting. I did this by highlighting anything that would catch some light ie, stick, buttons etc. Also brightened the whole shot. Added some darkness. This was mainly in the depths of the pit where the sune was not getting too. Added a ray of light. Basically masked off a chunk of cockpit where the sun would blast through on a new layer. Brightened then blurred to get the light casting across feel. Toned down the whole shot. Basically it felt too brown as old photos in WW2 were mostly shot in Black and White. I did keep a little brown though as its aged through the years. Added a scatch layer. These can be found all over the net as a PS effect or layer. This one was only set at 33% opacity so as not to look like it had been defaced. Added a little grubbiness. Its an old pic so maybe its been handed around a bit, just a little darkness to the edges of the shot. Hope something in this lot will be of use. I only wish i had a PC to play FS on now so i could do some VC shots

mutley 4,498
Hi Chris That's an interesting angle and a good first go, I wonder what you did other than use the sepia function Overall I found the colour was too strong, as though it had been soaked in tea bags! I hope you have another go, of course everything Steve says is excellent advice. It makes me want a go too! Cheers
