Didn't seem to for me I'm afraid - the LM quick and dirty explanation is that it optimises complex models at run time, but I'm wondering whether it has a more profound effect depending on your GPD manufacturer...Im on a Radeon 7950 but clearly many other people are reporting approx. 15% fps increase with no reported downsides...possibly they are on NVidia GPU's?

It's a no risk tweak though, you can always set it back easily enough, so worth a try on any rig - if it works for you then great, if not, no loss :) K

sure mate
when you first run P3D after a fresh new install
a little wizard runs that attempts to give your PC optimal settings based on your existing hardware
once this profile is set; some aspects of  it remain constant;  like the use of DX10 or 11 is set at this point
i haven’t found out yet how to reverse this selection; as these aren’t clickable switches inside the config tool

to have your machine profile reevaluated you will need to delete your current user profile
and run P3D again; and hope you get DX11 compatible profile with your new hardware

you can read about down-level hardware here

Chris I think I have to disagree with you, without a proper frame counter, just the stock fsx one i think I am getting on average about 3-4fps better (say 10%) using the aerosoft  airbus, it certainly isnt making things worse at any rate

you don’t have to disagree Nigel; you elect to ;) (I'm kidding of curse)

for me it actually made things less happy in FSX, using stock counter and my normal settings

i don’t see the point in messing the counters averages to see a finer fluxuation;

which is measured by a different formula then I’m used to sample,

if there are gains to made; it should reflect through the normal FSX counter formula as it does on P3D with this tweak
