bilirubin 50
Hi all, I was not sure where to post this so I put it here. How do I copy and paste a link to another web site in the body of one of these messages? Mike
Captain Coffee 2,030
You can just copy and past the link: for example: https://www.google.com And...just in case...cuz you knever know...and one likes to give complete advice when it is easily possible to do so. To copy: Highlight the selected URL, hit CTRL+C (or right clik it and select "copy" from the drop down menu). To Paste: place cursor in body of message, hit CTRL+V (or right click the area and select "paste" from the drop down menu)
Sabre 28
Interesting as I thought the same Matt but when I tried it in IE11 nothing happens at all. I'll try Chrome when I get in as work only has IE11 available. Strange one
mutley 4,498
Unfortunately there are a few things broken by IE 11, paste text and some buttons will not work but will be fine in other browsers. I would recommend Chrome or FireFox.
Captain Coffee 2,030
Firefox user here.
brett 2,315
I am still using IE and have been having problems too. What I do is toggle that little icon "n" in the upper left corner of the text menu, paste the link and then toggle back to full use.
wain 879
use the fox myself, for a while now I cant even get IE to load anything, its always blank... Wayne
allardjd 1,853
Refresh my memory here - IE11 is for Win8 and above, right? John
wain 879
according to MS website IE 11 is not compatible with my PC as I have win8.1 , so if I have ie 11 that would explain why it dont work, MS says its for win7.. aniother page says it does work with 8.1, dont use it anyway as it kept hanging... allardjd 1,853
Now I'm really confused. I thought IE 10 was the highest version usable with Win7. I guess that's not right? John
J G 927
Chrome for me.
allardjd 1,853
I'm using Chrome too, but wouldn't mind getting back to IE if there's a version that works properly. You'd think the people who wrote the OS would be able to put together a browser that works reliably with it, wouldn't you? Maybe they're still upset about not being able to bundle their browser within their OS. The EU pretty much p***ed in Microsoft's corn flakes over that one a few years ago. brett 2,315
Hmmm, is that true John. I always had IE10, after checking I now have IE11. How did I get it, I never physically put it in that I know of, no wonder the thing has been acting funny.

brett 2,315
That could well be, I usually just download the security stuff though. Sneaky devils.
dogtrack 346
You think that is sneaky, wait until you have W 10 on board. You will download these updates!! You will install these updates!! Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated !!
bilirubin 50
It looks like I have opened up a can of worms with this one. I was posting from work yesterday when I tried to copy the link and we use IE in my office. I will have another go when I get home, I use IE as well however my PC is stand alone whereas work is networked with all sorts of extras added on so that may have been the cause.
