Misty mornings

Recommended Posts

So I get a call for a charter, just a small Bonanza from EGGD to EGBB, some top people from VW going to a meeting, all sounded very serious, not that I was listening of course. Just a few shots, departure, gear up and one taken by one of the PAX.......going to be nice one the sun burns through that mist, somehow I think they will be going back by Train.......

Weather has been misty around here too...have found myself having to duck under and around stuff like that with varying degrees of success. Agreed that flying through them is disorienting as heck...esp if you have no autopilot...nearly bought a farm and a cargo the other day trying to dive out of some muck to make a field ahead.

Nice shots, Wayne!    ^_^

@Matt

In RW heli flying in Norway, fog is no fun, either. The SOP is to try and fly along fjords if possible, on the assumption that the water below you is, at least, flat (unlike the rest of the place). However, this is countered somewhat by the Norwegians' fun habit of stringing power lines across fjords....     :whis:

Happy to see I didn't reinvent the ski on that one. :) I do this all the time in Alaska in bad weather...the Fjords of Alaska are equally flat and fairly predictable for altitude...a great place to drop out of the sky through clouds using GPS for position...till it looks blue below you or you run out of Altimeter...in which case hope you are in an amphibian. :D
