Nice shots Alan.  But not accurate I am afraid.  Where are the bits of aircraft flying off and the smoke and flames?:whis:

By my count they lost 23 of them (of a total population of around 60) during the war, including a number of them that were "ground-swatted" and eleven that were captured at Port Stanley when the Argentinians saw the handwriting on the wall and surrendered.  One was even lost to a Stinger MANPADS.

Like most dedicated ground attack types, these have no business in the air without an air superiority umbrella, which the Argentinians could not provide.  They cannot defend themselves effectively against fighter types, even one as limited as the Harrier.  The Pucara was meat on the table for the Harriers whenever and wherever they found them.

I just read up on them and think their abilities in ground attack, short and rough field landings and one air-to-air kill on a rescue helicopter all added up to making them a great target.:P Thanks for the look Alan, never saw one before.:thum:
