hello_basil 0
Just bought: 2 x 1GB Kingston SD Memory Cards! £5.09 each off Ebuyer and in total £15 including Delivery. Now don't get me wrong but I believe Kingston to be one of the best makes, they rival Sandisk too. Most definetley worth it for all you photographers, I go through around 300+ shots plus with my camera on an eventful day so these are very useful! :mrhappy: PS: I've just spotted a 2GB Kingston Card for £11.74 Edit: Unbelievable price, a "Veho" 4GB SD Card for £19.63, albeit I've never heard of this make but all the reviews are 5*! :eyebrow:
mutley 4,498
Thanks Theo, I use SD's in my Canon (I think) so may be useful. Cheers,

hello_basil 0
Compact Flash are huge cards in comparison to XD & SD I must say! XD are only used by Olympus & Fuji I believe and cost quite a bit more than SD! A Question: Is it worth spending the extra £200 bob on a SLR instead of my Bridge? :?:
Martyn 9
I bought 4X 2GB Veho SD cards from ebuyer and they all work really well. Definately a bargain!
simi_av8r 0
XD are only used by Olympus & Fuji I believe and cost quite a bit more than SD! I use Fuji's own XD cards in my camera, and recently bought two 1GB XD cards at just £9.99 each - must admit i got them at trade prices via work, but even still the SRP (distributor to reseller price) that my work paid was less than £6.00! so if you see an 1GB XD card at £20+, then you're being severely ripped off! A Question: Is it worth spending the extra £200 bob on a SLR instead of my Bridge? In short: most definitely! longer answer: if you can afford the extra £200-£300 up front over a digital-bridge camera, then definitely go for a DSLR. The quality (Megapixel for Megapixel) compared to bridge cameras and the versatility of DSLR's these days far surpasses the cons of having to buy different lenses and such - having made the mistake of going for a bridge as my 1st digital, I'm now saving for a low to mid-range DSLR (£600+) with a couple of lenses. hello_basil 0
Same here mate, I was thinking along the lines of an EOS or D50?! With a 600m lens!
simi_av8r 0
Same here mate, I was thinking along the lines of an EOS or D50?! With a 600m lens! Try the EOS 30D or the Nikon D80 - both very similar spec and very good cameras. Alternatively, the Sony Alpha 100 is a very compelling alternative to the 'norm' especially since it uses both normal (film) and digital Konica Minolta mount lenses and these are 2 a penny on eBay! one thing i will say mind you, especially since its your first DSLR, is ditch the kit lens (the one supplied with the body) as its very rarely up to the job the cameras are capable of....
