Apparently the pilot has been taken to hospital but that's about all I can make out. She's had a very chequered history. I really hope they can rebuild her. Looking at that video, he opened up far too quickly and then the torque took over and he lost the aircraft. A stupid , stupid mistake. Any pilot with an ounce of sense knows that you don't take liberties with a Spitfire. They are known for being feisty birds. Link to post Share on other sites

brett 2,310 Posted June 14, 2017 Report Share Posted June 14, 2017 It was an odd crash, it looked like his elevator was in the down position when he started to pitch forward and only compensated to late. I did see a longer video that showed a bunch of folks chipping in to lift the wing so they could get the pilot out so a salute out to them. 1 Link to post Share on other sites
