Leg 32: Niagra Falls KIAG - La Guardia KLGA

Recommended Posts

Gents,

Apologies for the delay. Things should start settling down in the next few weeks for me and I should have more time in the sim - but for now here's Leg 32.

Taxying out

At the holding point. Not much visibility, looks like we'll be "Mud Movin'" our way out of here.

ScreenMate_425.jpg

Standard takeoff for this aircraft at a primary aerodrome

ScreenMate_426.jpg

Cleanin' her up, quickly gaining altitude as the ride gets a bit bumpy

ScreenMate_427.jpg

Thru the cloud - now taking the chance to have a glimpse of Niagra Falls

ScreenMate_428.jpg

Eck! More cloud!

ScreenMate_429.jpg

Now in Central New York

ScreenMate_430.jpg

Enjoying the peacefulness...

METAR is in for La Guardia. Not looking good.

Belly shot

ScreenMate_433.jpg

Getting initial vectors for a westbound approach

ScreenMate_434.jpg

Looks like some fog down there. Strobes are turned off at this point.

ScreenMate_435.jpg

Jet traffic starts getting a little heavy for my liking. We slow down to 190KIAS.

ScreenMate_436.jpg

Looks fine for now...

ScreenMate_437.jpg

...not quite so now.

ScreenMate_438.jpg

Perfect. Crappy wx, approach I've never flown and fuel is getting a bit low. Probably shouldn't have burnt so much off on that climbout...

ScreenMate_439.jpg

Breaking out momentarily. Lesson learnt today: The Super Hornet doesn't appreciate severe windshear.

Almost went missed approach. Picked up the RWY just before I bolted. Bit low, but not a problem for those GE's at the rear.

ScreenMate_441.jpg

Parked. Not the best flight, probably should have checked out the charts prior to flying into La Guardia. Should have stuck to the old pilot's saying "never point the nose of an airplane you haven't been five minutes before".

Leg 32 complete!

Hope you enjoyed!

Great shots Joe!

Leg 33 is mine I think. Might be a while before I can fly it, got a lot on right now, but I'll start a new topic and update you all after a few more people have seen these :-)

Dave
