mulletman 0
The closest I could get was Liège Airport (LGG/EBLG) but I know it's not correct Nope...but Its in France. It shares its name with part of some (but not all) humans.
allardjd 1,853
At last - a real clue! It's Guipavas (LFRB) at Brest. John
mutley 4,498
Thanks Fred, Whoa that was my first thought John, let's hope it's right :mrhappy:
mulletman 0
At last - a real clue! It's Guipavas (LFRB) at Brest. It is indeed. The great scenery is avalble here; http://laurent.lequantho.free.fr/ I worry that you both thought about tits first though. :mrhappy:
mutley 4,498
Thanks Fred, that Jess has certainly had an impact on you! Well done John, would you like to fire it up again and post another location? Cheers
allardjd 1,853
I'll have one posted by morning, I think. John
allardjd 1,853
Here’s the next mystery airport for you viewing pleasure. This is stock FS9 scenery. (I’ll bet you could have figured that out without me telling you.) Hints: 1) It’s in the Western Hemisphere 2) An extremely steep descent profile is sometimes required 3) Landings exceed takeoffs 4) A 747 has landed on this runway I’ll post more clues in a day or two if no one is getting warm. I expect that this won’t last the first day without being ID’d though.
mutley 4,498
Too many clues John! Are we looking at the The NASA Shuttle Landing Facility ICAO: KTTS ? Can't check it out in FS as I am at work :sadblinky:
JoeEllwood 0
Hey, one I know! :mrhappy: X68, NASA Shuttle Landing Facility, Titusville, Florida.
allardjd 1,853
Excellent work, guys. I guess that one was even easier than the Panama Canal. Mut, you obviously know where it is but KTTS isn't the correct designator. Joe Ellwood has it exactly right - X68. Good work, Joe. We have house guests this week and are going to visit the Space Center today, so it was on my mind last night. As you say, too many clues. John
mutley 4,498
Cheers John, Another fantastic place to visit! Well done Joe, over to you for the next one?
JoeEllwood 0
Yep - will get one posted when I get home from school :shrug_no:
JoeEllwood 0
I can't go - about to hit the sack and I've been doing homework and study all night. Someone else can post a shot as it'll be a long wait if you're expecting one from me!
mutley 4,498
No worries Joe, thanks for letting us know, I will post one tonight or tomorrow. Cheers
mutley 4,498
Here it is, in glorious monochrome :shrug_no: Just a couple of pictures for now and to confirm this is not default scenery!. Cheers
mulletman 0
i recognise this. But i cannot think for the life of me where it is, as i last visited waaayback in my old simming days. Something tells me Caribbean area, but im probably worng.
mutley 4,498
I expect you have been here Fred :shrug_no: The scenery is quite new, I only downloaded it for this competition, if anyone wants a shot in the default FS9 then just let me know. I made it B&W as the airline livery would have given the game away!
mutley 4,498
Clues:- Seasons do not change very drastically. Spaniards would feel at home here. The national flag is like the Cuban Flag as if it had been designed by a dyslexic. That should be enough
ddavid 149
Hey, Mut - deep clues, man :!: Do you mean like: transforms to: :?: :?: And is the airport named after the country's first governer, Jose? Cheers - David - and thanks for the comp.
mutley 4,498
You are far too good David, pending posting of the name and ICAO, well done you are correct! Do you fancy posting another one?
ddavid 149
Hi Mut, no, just a 'crossword puzzle' brian (oops, brain!) It's Luis Munoz Marin International, Puerto Rico (TJSJ) as in: Give me until tomorrow to get a new guess loaded. Cheers - David.
mutley 4,498
Cheers David, that confirms it :!:
ddavid 149
O.K. lads (and lassies?) - here's the next airport, sorry about the delay.... Now you may notice that there's a fault with this shot. Basically, I'm in FSX with default scenery and the sliders around the middle. Oh, yes, Mut, I'd like to ask some pretty basic questions about scenery, AI aircraft and so on. Most of the other forums are a bit 'technical' to put this level of query to - any chance of a thread for idiots like me? Anyway, more 'clues' if you need them (no, not you Fred!!) :mrhappy: Weather brilliant, as usual here in sunny Pembrokeshire Take care all - cheers - David. P.S. Thanks to photobucket for image storage.
mutley 4,498
Hi David, That does look pretty grim, once we guess where it is I can compare my view. I would suggest you post a query in the Flight Simulation forum and see what is suggested as my knowledge is pretty basic in these areas but I will try to help too. I don't think you will find the forum too technical :mrhappy: Greetings from sunny Hampshire!
