allardjd 1,853
The late comedian W.C. Fields had the right idea about water... Quote Say anything that you like about me except that I drink water. I never drink water; that is the stuff that rusts pipes. I never drink water because of the disgusting things that fish do in it. You can't trust water: Even a straight stick turns crooked in it.
rob16584 42
I'm not sure why it was sent. The company Nurse sent it, along with some other medical bumf, to my e-mail at work
mutley 4,495
 Trouble is, I can't drink water without a scotch in it!

rob16584 42
Apparently not Simi. I asked if Tea or Beer counted too. The nurse wasn't too impressed!
The red barron 41
How about the water being hot with flavour or cold with flavour?
rob16584 42
I would imagine that it it was one of those flavoured teas then it should be ok because they are allegedly full of goodness. I drink quite a lot of flavoured teas (Camomile, Lemon, Raspberry etc..) and they are meant to be good for you

I drink quite a lot of flavoured teas (Camomile, Lemon, Raspberry etc..) and they are meant to be good for you well shouldn't that also apply to Coffee then? Many scientific studies have found much evidence suggesting Coffee, in non-excessive amounts is actually good for lowering Cholesterol, preventing Heart Disease and such.... mutley 4,495
I have heard that about coffee too Simi. Red Wine and Pomegranate juice is good too, I do both!
allardjd 1,853
If coffee is bad for you, I should have been dead years ago. I've probably drunk enough to float a battleship. If you don't like what you read in a medical study, wait a while. There will be another one along soon refuting the first. John
MartinW 0
Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer day 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79% and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Not sure I believe that. If water cut breast cancer by 79%, that would be phenomenal, and all of the worlds media would be freaking out. It would be one of the greatest medical discovery's in the field for years.

MartinW 0
ST LOUIS (MD Consult) - As physicians know, the Internet can be a powerful educational tool, or it can be the source for disseminating misinformation. Mass e-mails, the kind helpfully passed from friend to friend to friends of friends ad infinitum throughout cyberspace, are one of the prime culprits when it comes to spreading misinformation passed off and accepted as fact. Case in point: A recent, widely circulated e-mail extolling the virtues of drinking water and rattling off
allardjd 1,853
I believe in eating from the four major food groups every day - Sugar, Salt, Caffeine and Cholesterol. Cholesterol is what they put in food to make it taste good. As for salads, my ancestors did not claw their way to the top of the food chain for me to eat lettuce. wisemanp 0
I take everything I see about things like this on the internet with a pinch of salt... Oh wait, salt's bad for me too!
MartinW 0
Very wise Phil. The Internet is a great source of information, and if you look in the right place, accurate information. However, it's also the greatest source of disinformation ever invented by man.
Soaranden 84
The question is not "water or Coke?" As Oskar Schindler said, "It's all in the presentation." See . I rest my case...of Coke.Dan
