AirbusLad 0
Hello Everyone! Well after simi_av8r's fab post we are now in Athens and it is now my job to take the baton and get it safely to Cairo. Aircraft is Egyptair's Airbus A320, Route today is direct to Cairo, we will be flying over Iraklio making our descent over Alexandria before making our way into Cairo. SO, A very simple route, A very simple aircraft, The normal daily passengers but 1 very special bit of cargo on board. Thats right, The ATWC baton! The Route So, Passengers and Cargo is loaded, I've just had the baton handed to me which is straped in beside me. Started the engines and no making our way to the active We are number 3 for take-off so i have time to drink my morning coffee 'Position and Hold' Strong take-off (Keeping a watchful eye on the baton) Passenger view as we leave Athens Getting on course while making our way upto 29.000 Doesn't the sea look wonderful in the morning? Over Iraklio As planned, we start coming down past Alexandria 8.000Feet and making our last turns before gear down and getting on Approach Gear down, Flaps full, Cleared for landing A nice smooth touch-down, Couldn't have the baton damaged now Slowing down under the hot eygptian sun Making our exit As we park up, Shut down the engines, Passengers de-board, I un-done the buton and get ready to hand it over to Edward Spence to carry on its way. Well a very simple flight but one very importaint reson. Hope you enjoyed Leg 5 and i have enjoyed being part of this amazing event. See you all soon.
