mutley 4,498
I downloaded Just Flight's VFR Real for the IOW the other night. I can say that I am suitably impressed. This morning I took the Shockwave Spitfire out of EGHH for a little sight seeing. What you are seeing here is- FSX Shockwave Spitfire Mk1 Just Flight VFR Real Scenery IOW edition. Active Sky X for real world weather. X graphics for cloud, sea, sky and sun textures. After completing the walk around and visual check I'm now sat in the cockpit, props clear! The mighty Merlin kicks up the dust! After manoeuvring to the active, the tail wheel has been locked. After 80kts we drifted off the tarmac. Hood closed, gear up. The coast is never far away from Bournemouth, ASX has just finished updating the Wx. Flying low trying to keep under the mist but it is patchy and closing in. The Needles is in my sights! Just planning my arrival manoeuvre. An inverted climb was in order, great detail from the scenery JF  Oooh was that the light house? Heading inland and East. Just taking in the beautiful scenery of dear old Blighty. Back out to the South coast. Around the headland, the mist is getting worse. Sandown pier in the background, heading inland again. EGHN in site, coming in for a low pass. A bit of daisy cutting, then.. ..back up to 1500 Rounding the Westernmost point just past Bembridge. Now heading West up the Solent. That's Ryde pier ahead on the opposite side of the Solent to Portsmouth. Osborne house to the left, the once home to Queen Victoria! Newport and the river Medina behind us. That looks like a running track? The Needles appear again in the distance. Lining her up, just about to pass Alum Bay where the multicoloured sands can be seen. Through the gap in the rocks.. YES Pulling up and back around to the North. That was great fun, thanks JF! Bournemouth is now back in my sites ready, I'm off to park up for another day. I hope you enjoyed this site seeing visit. Please fly Mutley's Hangar again soon! Cheers

ddavid 149
Thanks Joe for the JF review and for letting me remember summer holidays spent in Bonchurch (east of Ventnor) - of fish'n'chip dinners, mystery bus tours(always to Blackgang Chine!) and bl**dy freezing swimming. There I go again, showing my age - I said 'there I......' etc. Cheers - Dai.
