DH106 Comet 4 ascending - Edit more added!

the question is Mut, what's the sound pack and VC like? I have a very soft spot for the British Golden Age Jet Airliners so i'd be on the purchasing list as customer number one if these areas 'hit the nail on the head'

The VC is probably one of the better ones to come out of the Airplane Heaven stable, I haven't really wound up the sound yet but will do this week, what I have heard so far has been good.

I won't be getting it, I'm afraid - I am so mightily impressed by Dave Maltby's incredible freeware version (along with his other Brit Classics) that I feel buying a payware one would be like a slap in his face!

Besides, his is so good, I don't need another one!

and that, despite the fact it was made for FS9.

His Trident 3:

His BAC 1-11 475:

and the VCs are incredibly good, too.

JD,

I am a fan of Dave Maltby's work as well, but he stopped developing nearly two years ago now and I think his last DH106 update was over 3 years ago.

I think you will find this is a massive leap forward from DM's model and hardly a slap in the face, DM has chosen to leave the scene now.

Don't write if off just yet, it hasn't even been released!

Cheers

Joe

I gotta admit Mut, the only thing between me and the AH Comet is (as JD points out) the fantastic freeware Comets from DH...although i've obtained several add-ons from other freeware sources to put some umpf into the sound package and also upgrade the VC, so it's really not that bad at all now.....i'll be very interested to see what the review's are like like come release day for the AH version!

Hi Joe

That is one Great looking shot, can't wait to get my hands on her.

In my eyes she was one of the best looking a/c ever to grace the skies, my one regret is I never had the chance to fly in her.

Funny Kieran!

As it's still in development Ros I cannot comment except to say it's all good. (Sorry)

When I am allowed I will try to post some more exclusive shots and you may get an idea

Ciao!

Well, I couldn't fault the original DM soundsets, though it's a while since I've flown any as I've been busy with other things.

However, yesterday I was flying the Simshed (freeware) Nimrod and the sounds for that are just awesome. So might be an idea, whether using this Comet or the DM version, to use those for it. You won't be disappointed!

Of course, there are also Comet soundsets up at BritSim, too.

A good looking plane.

I'm guessing it's the one that JF have as under development. I realise that you're under a NDA on this one, but I have to ask one thing that I think you should be able to answer without violating that.

Is this part of JF:s F-Lite series, or more along the lines of the Connie as far as system simulation goes?
