Leg 62- Asuncion SGAS - La Paz(JFK) SLLP

Recommended Posts

Well as Chris has technical difficulties, yet the baton was safely in Asuncion, I pressed on with the challenge. This flight took me to La Paz John F Kennedy, formerly known as 'El Alto'. Enjoy the flight

The aircraft for today-the TAM Fokker 100, waiting for clearance.

fsscr000-8.jpg

On the taxiway with a departing 737. It's hurrendous weather here in Paraguay.

fsscr001-9.jpg

I'm not sure whether South Americans say 'Position and hold' or 'Line up and wait', but that's what we're doing!

fsscr002-9.jpg

Throttles gradually increased as we start our roll

fsscr003-9.jpg

"..V2.. "

fsscr004-8.jpg

"Positive climb, gear up"

fsscr005-10.jpg

The river shining down below. My geography isn't good enough to know what it's called...

fsscr006-8.jpg

Climbing out, cloud still around

fsscr007-7.jpg

Above the cloud level, first round of drinks on their way!

fsscr008-7.jpg

OH dear we seem to have left the passengers behind

fsscr009-5.jpg

*JOKE* This was an 'empty stock working' as it is called on the railways, just transferring the aircraft

The view from the top of the T-Tail

fsscr011-7.jpg

The sun's getting low-still no sign of the Andes

fsscr012-7.jpg

In cruise, pilot entertaining himself at the moment

fsscr016-3.jpg

It might be a bit older than most I fly, but it still has speed!

fsscr017-7.jpg

This is the view from the nose camera, that the passengers might be getting of there were any of them!

fsscr020-9.jpg

I like the lines on this, they're smooth...

fsscr021-8.jpg

Here we go, into the sunset, with mountains all around

fsscr024-6.jpg

The view from the other side!

fsscr025-6.jpg

I think a bit of Meat Loaf would go well with this sunset :mrhappy:

fsscr026-3.jpg

Into the night...

fsscr028-5.jpg

Closing in on La Paz

fsscr028-6.jpg

Turns to final

fsscr032-6.jpg

And as the wheels touch

fsscr033-3.jpg

Taxiing in, it's quite late here, although we flew 'with time' if you know what I mean :mrhappy:

fsscr034-1.jpg

Not quite as busy as New York's JFK!

fsscr035-4.jpg

And here we are, disembarkation of the Mutley Crew

fsscr036-3.jpg

Hope you enjoyed, next stop Lima i believe

Wow!

...I did enjoy Phil! Super shots again and the F100 is a real class aircraft.

The speedy shot in the middle was excellent.

So at La Paz :mrhappy:

You haven't seen Sharon have you? (Or Dgor come to think of it :mrhappy: )

Cheers

but I have been living it up Bolivian style

Careful, Phil. That stuff will go right to your head at that altitude.

Great flight, beautiful shots. Enjoyed it. Should have taken a shot of the altimeter after landing. I think that's one of

those chosen few airports whose elevation is larger than the runway length - and it's a long runway.

John
