I Joined The AA

Recommended Posts

I saw this aircraft in a video during an airline commercial and just recently downloaded it. A had to have it moment that sent me on a search quest, luckily it was available. Sweet flier that has been getting quite a bit of time air time on my machine. The AA texture is one of my favorites and enjoyed seeing your shots. I also have been using the float plane version for a change of pace (see Oct screenshot contest) and got hooked on pond hopping.

A lovely old aircraft, I,ve flown in a few of them, the last one being G-AKIF when she was based at Booker, downside was I and a couple of others had to clean and polish it first! All good fun though! Shortly after that she was moved to Duxford where the new operators promptly tipped her on her nose!

Looking at the vintage AA livery I,d have been more inclined to show her in a more rural airfield or something with a more period setting. These aircraft are rarely seen at major hubs. Against the modern jets it looks slightly out of place, thats just my preference though. (Britsim do a fabulous rendition of Old Warden airfield in Bedfordshire and its freeware, there is also a freeware version of Croydon availiable as well but thats harder to find) That said a great set of shots of one of my favourite aircraft.

Thats the very one ! brilliant. She was wearing those colours when she was at Booker. I,ll have to dig out the photos from my files. Theyre on 35m prints so will have to scan them in.

We had some fun on that aircraft. On one flight the pilot spotted to naked girls lying by a private swimmming pool in a remote area of Buckinghamshire, They never did figure out why this big biplane started circling the house while us lot were inside with zoom lenses on our cameras! Secluded gardens are no protection from nosy fliers! :wootmesalia:
