dodgy-alan 1,587
Thanks Chuck, I detected it by looking up the Ansons reg first, found out where that was then just needed to find details about the wooden models on display! simples!! Anyway, Have a go with this one. It was another one that never got built but bits of it survive in a later design.

hurricanemk1c 195
I suspect Eric Brown flew one of these in December 1944, although I'm not sure
Kasper 14
That would be the Sikorsky R.4 and .. Rob: ATWC IV has started
allardjd 1,853
Kasper - you're on the right track but that has roundels on it, and the owners had their own designation for it. I'm looking for that. John
hurricanemk1c 195
Now that's being a tad techincal John - afterall, the Wildcat was initally the Marlet in RAF/RN service And I found the picture online. There's a wonderful photo in Eric Brown's "Wings on my Sleeve" of him hovering it with no hands, and of testing something to do with the aerodynamics of the blades - just two people with a big metal tube putting out coloured smoke, with the rotors inches away from the pole - those were the days! allardjd 1,853
Love the new file name - don't be so hard on yourself. I spent 1-1/2 hours looking for it and never thought to check your image properties. It really is a tough one to find. I won't reveal it. John

Kasper 14
No, not in Il2 AFAIK. John, it's good to remind myself that I am just as fallible as the suits I deal with on a daily basis at work!

stu7708 244
Sorry for the slight delay. Had a kid with a fewer to attend to when I got home Here's the next one for you. Not much detail, but I hope the rather un-orthodox placement of the airspeed indicator can work as a clue...
