dodgy-alan 1,587
Another clue, there was only one other aircraft with this configuration.....and that was the one that went into production.
Quickmarch 488
Is it the Convair YB-60? Cheers, March
dodgy-alan 1,587
Well done John, It is indeed the Convair YB-60. It lost out to the B-52 for a production contract sadly. Personally I think this was the better looking aircraft. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convair_YB-
allardjd 1,853
Not a bad looking plane, but I have to say that the US taxpayers seem to have gotten their money's worth out of the BUFF too. It has arguably been one of the best heavy bombers ever produced. Every once in a while they get it right - B-52, C-130, KC-135, A-10 - and pick a plane that's a winner, not only in the short term, but which gives long and useful service. dodgy-alan 1,587
I love the B-52, it must be one of the longest serving aircraft in history, and from what I gather it's eventual drawdown date is around 2040+! It's an awesome sight even now. I'm still surprised that they havent re-engined it yet with modern engines. Those TF-33s are hardly the most eco freindly now are they. Quickmarch 488
Have a go at this one, lads: Yes, I do have a photo of the whole airplane. Cheers, March

Quickmarch 488
Alan! How'd you get that out of that pile of bits? Dead Right. Gotta be some sort of record. Here she is in happier days Cheers, March
dodgy-alan 1,587
LOL, that's one of the most distinctive rudders in Aviation! (plus I've got one in my sim!) Try this one then, should be easy enough.
rob16584 42
Looks a bit lockheed-y to me, but I can't find anything to match. First thought was a version of Connie, but it looks too short and doesn't have a tripple rudder
Quickmarch 488
Looks like the bitmap file Lockheed, but not an L12...................
Andrew Godden 943
Vertical stabiliser is not pointed enough at the top for a Lockheed aircraft. It's shape is more Consolidated in appearance. Possibly the B-24 'Liberator' or the transport derivative, the C-87 'Liberator Express'. Cheers Andrew
