Recommended Posts

So I get this call from a guy

ab1.jpg

“Hello, Lonestar Aviation”

ab2.jpg

“I need to be in Phillips, Wisconsin... fast”

ab3.jpg

"All I have on the ramp is an Airbus A319CJ that we use for international charter, it rents at $15,000 an hour.  It is total overkill for your trip but...”

ab4.jpg

“You don't have anything smaller?”

ab5.jpg

"Nope, the King Air is down, the Citation X is in Spain and the Sovereign is down in Mexico.  Tell ya what, we will rent it to you at the Sovereign price, I am sorry for the hassle.”

ab6.jpg

"Excellent!  Thanks alot for that. I need you in Hector tomorrow morning at 7 ready to go”

ab7.jpg

“See you then, have a nice day”

ab9.jpg

It turns out, this guy owns a chain of creameries and grocery stores in the area and he needed to get there without fail for a meeting with another company that he was interested in purchasing.

So that is how we got this massive A319CJ into KFAR.

ab11.jpg

"LSA86 contact departure, good day!"

ab12.jpg

"LSA86, Green Bay Departure, altimeter 3014, good morning"

ab13.jpg

"This will be the RNAV 01 approach into Prince County, final approach course is 007, runway landing distance is 5000 ft., set full autobraking, uh, at URPOW will we be down to 4000, GOFXO we will be down to 3100, that is our final approach fix, mins are 1790 and when we go missed we will climb 4100 direct to LODVY and hold. MSA in the area is 4100.  Any questions?"

ab15.jpg

"Phillips unicom, Lonestar 86"

ab16.jpg

"LSA86 Phillips unicom"

ab17.jpg

"Ya, uh, we are 55 miles out, bout 15 minutes, we are going to drop one passenger, get some fuel and get back in the air.  Quick turn no catering.  How is the visibility?"

ab18.jpg

"LSA86, roger, clear blue and a million, will you need marshalling?"

"LSA86, 10 miles from GOFXO, descend and maintain 3,500, heading 040, cleared RNAV 01, contact unicom on 122.8"

ab19.jpg

"22.8, descend and maintain 3,500, 040 and cleared for 01 LSA86"

ab20.jpg

"Affirm, this is a HUGE jet."

ab21.jpg

ab25.jpg

"Thank you, we will look for him."

ab26.jpg

"Sir, we are getting ready to land, can you please buckle in?  We will have you on the ground very shortly."

Welcome back to the ATWC Remington, and what a comeback it was..

Some of those shots are just stunning, but my favorite is the one with all the stars in the backdrop!

And I think you met the MTOW limit with a big margin ;)
