More photos from my recent trip to the New England Air Museum This particular aircraft flew to an astounding altitude of 92,000 feet at Mach 2.5 while stationed in Germany in 1962. The purpose of the flight was to demonstrate the Startfighters' capability against the MiG 23, since the flight was being tracked by Soviet radar.1 point
