Great enteries so far guys! I will have my enteries in soon Mut, i'm guessing you'll pick up this message up on here eventually, I have a couple of questions for you. Where did you get that otter from?? Where is that island in your shot? Oh and on a completely different topic, is it possible to get hold of the ATWC paint job shown on your Forum banner? CaptHill -
I would love to help out with the cargo opertions but what is the easiest way to track my fuel? CaptHill

Leg 51: Santander-London City LEXJ-EGLC
CaptHill replied to rob16584's topic in Around The World Challenge II (ATWC 2)
Good to see we have made it back safe and sound and seen parts of the world you wouldn't normally think of visiting without this challenge. It seems so long ago that I started out from London City headed for Jersey. Time to concentrate on Mutley field now i think for time being. CaptHill -
Rob you've cracked it!! Works fine, thank you very much. I was hoping to do the needles flight and the London flight. No rush tho, thanks for this flight I shall tackle this first, and post the results of course! CaptHill

I ll leave it to you Rob, let me know how you get on. Would be great to fly your challenges! CaptHill

Hate to say it Rob but you need to get your thinkin cap on, i cant get the flight planner to load the route when i try loading it in FS9. CaptHill
-
thanks alot, i'll post up some shots soon when i ve flown the routes. CaptHill
-
Guys, i'm looking to fly some of these flights with my new found love of GA aircraft, but i dont know where to save the flight plan in FS9 once i have copied to word pad. CaptHill

I ve had my laptop for a couple of years and i ve slowly built up my flight sim. The laptop has served me well and when it finally gives up, i will be replacing it with a PC. Still a bit of life in the old dog yet but one day.....def a PC. I know this is a very vague question but if you built a system that would run flight sim 2004 and FSX, with a host of add ons very well with a budget of

Guys i'm looking at improving my system with a bit of new hardware however i dont know where to begin. Below is my system spec. Any reccommendations? I still get 20 odd FPS in FS9 (my sim of choice currently) but i just wanted to know how i could improve my FPS still further? Specifications Inspiron 9400 Dual Core Intel

Now i know not everyone will be into this type of thing but, i was wondering what the best Space Shuttle and apollo sapce simulators are. I ve seen several, just flight only offer a package which simulates re entry and landing for FSX. I just wondered what your guys thoughts were. Here is one i ve got my eyes on, it looks fantastic!

LEG 42 MHTG (Honduras) to TNCM (St Maarten)
CaptHill replied to CaptHill's topic in Around The World Challenge II (ATWC 2)
Thanks for your comments guys, hope I did the famous beach approach justice. That was indeed the PIC 737 from just flight....fantastic add on, my first ever purchase for flight sim in fact. The scenery is from Fly Tampa, with AES from aerosoft added in order to give the active gates and ground veichles etc. (NOW AVAILABLE FOR FSX) http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/re/ib ... 490,D10333 The paint job was from avsim, and yes it has to be the strangest i ve ever come across. I tracked it down after reading a copy of Airliners and it was the front cover. CaptHill -
LEG 42 MHTG (Honduras) to TNCM (St Maarten)
CaptHill replied to CaptHill's topic in Around The World Challenge II (ATWC 2)
Hi guys, here is Leg 42 across to St Maarten. Awaiting boarding at Honduras, time is 6.30am local time. Early Start! For this leg of the journey we were treated to something different. Alaska Airlines had heard of our challenge and offered us an aircraft for this leg. This aircraft took 24 days and nights of solid painting to complete. It is thought to be the most complex paint work on any aircraft. As we pushback the sun comes up. Here we go then, rolling start from runway 1. Climbing - just breaking above the early morning cloud. Making our turns The cruise -
Leg 41: Ocala KOCF - Tegucigalpa MHTG
CaptHill replied to needles's topic in Around The World Challenge II (ATWC 2)
Great shots and an equally great story line, I will let you take wifey back with you however i was thinking of using the eurofighter for the next flight so that might have been.......interesting to see her reaction! Great leg again, i ve got the baton and will have it on its way to the famous Princess Julianna airport today or tommorro, where photographers will line the beach for our approach. CaptHill -
Just had another look through some of my old posts, and i had totally forgotten about this. I will get me ATWC flight done on tuesday and then I will fly into Southampton with some interesting liveries and aircraft and try and make this a more regular thing, if you think its a good idea. CaptHill

Hi guys, just one shot as i haven't posted in a while.... SAS flight SK638 from Frankfurt to Stockholm Arlanda Here parked up at Arlanda just as the sun sets after a 6 30pm departure from Frankfurt, was a very nice sunset landing......now time for deboarding and turn around. CaptHill

Thanks for the quick response. I ve been tinkering with my setup all afternoon and i think after following your advice on how to set up the draw and sight distance i ve got much better frame rates. I sacrificed some autogen which just wasnt needed because i have lots of scenery add ons and hey presto, it seems to be running in the region of 25 FPS except in the biggest thunderstorm i could create in Active sky, and then it was still only 15FPS ish, and that was over Heathrow so it cant get much worse i wouldn't have thought One more question with regard to Active Sky, what options do you
-
Hi guys, here's my problem, I use active sky and flight environment which produce just amazing results! However i sometimes get low frame rates, not all the time just occassionally, it appears to be a trade off between cloud draw distance and cloud density in the flight sim menu. Do you guys have any tweaking tips that might help me get a larger draw distance at maximum density without too much drop in frames. CaptHill

Schipol is correct, i thought the KLM livery would give it away anyway. Radar contact is def worth the money!!!! I would rate it as one of the add ons i simply would not be without! You need not put your IFR plan on hold, with radar contact you can simply hit Ctrl K and pass all communications over to your co pilot who will contact the various centres along your route when told to hand over by ATC, meaning you can leave your computer and leave it to him, in fact i leave all communications to him right up until i ve taxied off the runway at my destination. There are so many other great perk
