Hi guys, During a flight from Paris to sunny climates in Saint Maarten, i was a bit bored during the cruise so thought i'd take some shots and it's amazing how busy the skies can get at FL 400 Enjoy, comments welcome. Also some other shots i had lying around for you to have a look at if your interested. Downwind.....can anyone guess the airport? Heading into the valley at Innsbruck. CaptHill

Guys I'm lookin to get hold of a payware concorde and was wondering which one out of the many out there is best to buy. I'm looking for something with a great visual model but also something that will give me some clue as to how to fly this rather complicated bird. CaptHill

guys i really need your help. i think i have finally understood how to read a chart and understand a SID.........however i have no idea how to implement it in the sim. For instance how do you know where the markers it mentions are? so that you can make the appropriate turns and be at correct altitudes etc? And be on the correct radiuals to certain VORS etc. Please help if you can CaptHill

I use FS9 exclusivley, however I do own a copy of FSX.....you may find this odd but I just got hold of a copy for the day when I decide I want to upgrade and that I'm confident my machine can handle it etc. A question I have which is relevant here.....Should I buy the the acceleration add on or just download the Service Packs when i eventually upgrade to FSX......its just a bit confusing what u read about the service packs and add on pack etc. Thanks CaptHill

Leg 25 UHHH > UHSS second attempt.
CaptHill replied to fighterpilot's topic in Around The World Challenge II (ATWC 2)
Thanks for taking over my leg!!! Great Post there!! Well Done! Sorry for having to leave you to take over, but I guess an emergency is an emergency and I had to turn back! Thanks again CaptHill -
I dont think it has anything to do with radar contact. As far as radar contact is concerned my first waypoint is POL for example and my first entered waypoint in the FMC is POL also......however after i enter the cruise altitude and climb speed into the FMC it adds the LIM and TOC points to the plan before POL therefore when radar contact gets me ready to cross POL and I select the managed mode the autopilot wants to turn around to go back and intercept the previous two. CaptHill

Ok so the managed mode is turning me back to the coloured circle and the top of descent marks.....but i dont pass over these because radar contact vectors me away from these towards my first waypoint within radar contact. So I need to remove the waypoints before POL in the FMC? How do i do this?? My first waypoint is POL but it appears to enter a top of climb mark and a speed restriction mark. Oh and what is a DCT? Thanks CaptHill

Another exapmle of the plane turning away from the waypoint! CaptHill

Hi guys i hope you guys can help with a problem that is driving me insane! Please see the screenshots below to help illustrate my problem. When I fly my Airbus Series Volume One aircraft, i try to engage the managed mode of the autopilot so the FMC route will be followed.....this never used to be a problem but just lately the aircraft turns to a completely different heading and flies away from the next waypoint! It seems to want to double back to the coloured circle, in the shot below, most of the time?? In the shot below the aircraft makes a really steep turn to the coloured circle bu

Hi guys here's the leg! Well I say that.......read on......! Our flight today will be an airbus A318 on delivery to a company over in Russia. Weather looks crisp without a cloud in the sky....but very cold! Speed brake test on the taxi out to runway 34R Under the watchful eye of the tower Runway looks very icy!! Rotation in our brand new Airbus! Climbing to the cruise altitude of 20000 Then a huge bang.....I look to the first officer and we pause for a moment.......a rushing sound is heard in the cabin! Sure enough a huge decompression!! The wind is howling! Myself an

Hi guys i am going to try and get my shots up here by Friday. Time has been very tight at the minute. I will do my best to get the Leg flown on Thurs and post it up Friday. CaptHill -
John, Thank you very much for your help, your advice to pop over to the AVSIM forum was very helpful and i have sorted the problem. It was indeed a case of incorrectly set altimeter! With lots of thunderstorms in the area etc, the standard pressure and local pressure must have been very different and this caused Radar contact to hassle me. I'm now clued up on Altimeter settings.....however i do neeed to find the altimeters on the rest of my aircraft. CaptHill

Hi guys, I know I can trust you guys to help me out with this problem i am having. I know Mutley and probably many of you guys might use Radar Contact instead of default ATC. I seem to be having a problem where by Radar Conatct ATC is giving me an altitude and when I get to this altitude ATC keeps saying please make sure you are at the correct altitude etc! even tho i am at that altitude. Plus this problem only seems to happen in the Airbus series volume one aircraft! They seem to be satisfied i am at the correct altitude when i descend a futher 1000ft. eg 'please descend and maintain 40
